PART 1 + PART 2
__________________________________________________

I hope you all enjoy the third edition of the MONDAY NIGHT WARS CLUB!

Few bullet points to hopefully get a few more people discussing this, on the whole:
  • Have any of your perspectives changed on this era as a whole with what we've watched so far?
  • Have any of your opinions on individual things changed on what we've watched so far?
  • Have you came across anything you enjoyed and didn't remember?
  • Have you came across anything you remember and didn't enjoy?
  • Which promotion do you think is strongest at this time?
  • What is each promotions strong points/weak points?
  • Anything else standing out for you?
  • Any comparisons to the modern-era, negatively and positively?
Remember to keep all of the discussion in here, and if you do watch, please try and put your thoughts in writing in this thread, and let's see if we can get a really good discussion going here. I'd love to see a good number of us growing week by week, and see if we can get over a few hiccups of this last week. One thing I would ask of people though is to tell your friends! Get them to join the site if they're not a part of it already, and try and get more and more people involved. It'd be great for the site if we have some new members here.

Also, please feel free to message me with any questions or anything you like, and add my Twitter which is in my sig because I would like to have more wrestling fans as followers, haha!

Haha... I'm catching up myself. Still on last weeks Raw/Nitro before watching these. I have kept them all up though in the previous thread, and I wont be deleting them like I was going to on Youtube.

A revision of how often they're posted may be in order. I wouldn't want people missing out and maybe one a week may get more discussion on them. I'll include a poll next week.

Sorry about making a thread. I was probably high like I am now. I just felt like helping out.

Souled Out is a great event from memory.

Haha, No foul mate. Sorry for being petty.

You know what? I always have this thing in my head that NWO Souled Out was a really bad show, like worst of all-time, and I have this memory of shocking Nitro Girls segments and other bits, but looking at it's build up, it actually sounds like a really great event and I can't be sure I'm right with what I thought.

The 3 big matches are great. Hogan/Giant is an interesting feud and at the time, people thought The Giant was a huge threat to the NWO, which he was. The Steiners were over huge, and were a great catalyst to The Outsiders being over but great heels, and the ladder match between Syxx and Eddie just can't be bad with the capabilities of both men.

Masa Chono/Jericho is on it too I think (I'm still a bit behind on Nitro,) which again sounds like a solid match.

I think I've always had wires crossed about this event. Looking forward to watching it definitely.

How about a PPV on a Saturday night? From a strictly English point of view then I bet that would get much more people watching live, few are able to stay up until 4 watching a Sunday night event. Would not mind seeing that again from a decent promotion.

I've caught up with Raw, just need to watch last weeks Nitro and I can watch these 3... Raw was great last week, the build for the Fatal 4 way was stellar and actually a great use of the Rumble; Austin cheating to win, and as he cheat he is forced to face the 3 men he illegally eliminated to get his prize, great booking.

Did anyone see at the Rumble when Ahmed powerbombed the Nation member through the table, that the French announcers had a small french flag on a stick? Is it just me, or is that really dangerous for the spot? Being dropped back first onto something sticking up like that?

Whilst I'm at, who were the other nation members at this point apart from Faarooq/Crush/D'Lo and the rappers (we are the nation, live and in colour, something something bum rush your mother...) Haha.

Quick question about the Jericho/Alex Wright match last week, am I really hearing "boring" chants 2 minutes in? What the F*ck is wrong with these people? Gahh... That annoys me no end.

Again, thanks for uploading these man, much appreciated.

I really like the Eddy/Syxx ladder match. Does anyone else listen to the commentary Bischoff & Dibiase do during the match, though? It's hilarious. Bischoff goes out of his way a few different times to say "Hall is the master & the founder of the ladder match." Man, he would find any little excuse to take a shot at the WWF back then. It's pretty funny.

As for Souled Out, I always get a chuckle out of it. Anyone hear Nash say in a recent shoot that as soon as they went forward with Souled Out, he knew the NWO storyline wasn't going to work out? He said he knew WCW knew very little about business after giving the heels their own PPV. It just didn't make sense to him. I thought that was a worthwhile nugget he passed along.

Oh yeah, Bischoff loved taking shots like that. They were both at it, as well. JR and King saying bits like "Watch Nikita after Raw, not that wimpy show Robin Hood!" It was just petty and silly and almost as daft as politics.

I think I remember that about Nash. Was that on his YouShoot? He's right as well, although whether he was saying it at the time no-one knows, but at this point watching I'm not really remembering the NWO fondly as I did. I remember them kicking arse and being cool, but hearing Bischoff and Nash on commentary acting like 20 year olds, and seeing Michael Wallstreet, Bagwell and guys like Big Bubba involved, it's sort of not shining the same light it did. There's some great stuff to come, as well all know, but at this point it's just... a bit cringeworthy. I can't take Bischoff seriously using the Wolfpack sign and saying things like sweeeeet, and Nash isn't much better, it's really taking a lot away from it for me.

Hogan is the only thing that's making me interested in the NWO at this time, as crazy as that is, and that's only because we see him 10 minutes a show.

I'm loving all of the stuff with Sting though, although I couldn't understand the Savage stuff at the previous Nitro.

Just started Souled Out... What's with that intro? 3 minutes of Bischoff, Oustiders and Syxx riding bin wagons? Haha, random!
