Foley gets a lot of credit for getting HHH over as a heel, as he should. But HHH played his part too - he managed to make Cactus a believable threat imo. His facial expressions during that previous quote alone is priceless.
Well if you consider one of the greatest WWF tag teams of all time to be 'a slump' then sure but The Rock 'n' Sock were big news in the latter half of '99, certainly better than the WWF title scene before the turn of the year when Mick and the Rock were inserted back into the scene.

Me 2 mate. It's so clear! I came home from school, abandoned my Homework, and put it on!

I'd agree with you that it has the edge on the No Way Out match.

It stands out more than any other Wrestling memory I have
Those were the days indeed, things were so much simpler back then haha
Come home on a friday night and know that you had some entertaining TV to watch (Raw).
Then wake up early saturday morning for smackdown.
Almost makes me feel bad for kids these days.. almost

Foley was just amazing in that last little run as Cactus Jack.

Triple H sold the change from Mankind into Cactus Jack so well, because he knew he was in serious trouble. The last time Foley became Cactus Jack and faced Triple H was in September 1997 and Hunter was beaten. So his reaction made perfect sense from a character standpoint.

I remember the crappy way Channel 4 used to show the live shows. I remember recording the Rumble and getting up the next morning to watch it. I was FUMING when they cut to commercials in the middle of The Rock's backstage promo!!!

Not sure about 5 stars but it definatly is a classic and a career making performance by Hunter and Foley.

Like a few people have said, I also remember taping this on channel 4 and it being my first proper introduction to wrestling at the age of around 13.

It's probably still up there as one of the best feuds from that era for me.

It really set the scene for Triple H to become a real bad ass.
