Re: Cactus Jack 2000

Agree with everything that's been said.

Brilliant build, one of my favourite PPV's and arguably my favourite match of all time.

Phenomenal in every way and as close to perfection as pro wrestling gets IMO.

Re: Cactus Jack 2000

I remember everything in great detail, it amazes me. Taping the Rumble which was on Channel 4 (UK) that year, for some reason, coming home from Football practice (soccer) after school and just sitting there and watching it with my jaw on the floor through most of the Cactus match, it really was a classic, i'd say even better than the HITC at No Way Out a month later. And to top it all off, Steph coming to ringside looking fine as hell - schoolboy crush!
Foley's face with thumbtacks sticking out as he was being pinned is something that will always stick in my mind.

I recall the disappearance more when I saw it as a kid.

Channel 4 yeh lol those were the days ey?

Me 2 mate. It's so clear! I came home from school, abandoned my Homework, and put it on!

I'd agree with you that it has the edge on the No Way Out match.

It stands out more than any other Wrestling memory I have

Re: Cactus Jack 2000

Tremendous little run to finish his full time wrestling career. He really pulled it out of the bag after being in a slump for most of latter '99, due to being physically finished and creatively turned into a clown.

"After the beating you gave me on Monday night, one thing Mankind is not, is ready to face you in a street fight at the Royal Rumble in Madison Square Garden. But I think the WWF fans deserve a substitute in that match. I think you know the guy... his name - IS CACTUS JACK!" < GOOSEBUMPS.

Foley gets a lot of credit for getting HHH over as a heel, as he should. But HHH played his part too - he managed to make Cactus a believable threat imo. His facial expressions during that previous quote alone is priceless.
