Any fans of the "old" WCW

Vader vs Sting

Rick Rude

cactus jack

Bagwell

For me this had an great appeal.

I think it was just wrestling and not so much entertainment like wwf and also less jobber matches.

Re: Any fans of the "old" WCW

WCW in 92, 93 and parts of 94 WERE THE BOMB. Vader as dominant champ, Rude as Champ, guys like STEAMBOAT challenging, Sting (to an extent, only liked his Vader matches), THE DANGEROUS ALLIANCE, Cactus Jack, STEVEN REGAL... some fucking tremendous matches came from that time period.

Re: Any fans of the "old" WCW

Guess you mean pre-NWO? WCW in 1992 and 1993 was probably better than WWE.
  • Hollywood Blonds
  • Dangerous Alliance
  • Jake Roberts attacking Sting with the snake
  • Vader's war with Cactus Jack
  • Using guys from Japan
  • Quality young talent (Regal, Benoit, Scorpio, Flamingo etc)
  • Johnny B Badd - an underrated gimmick
  • The build towards Starrcade 1993 and people believing Flair was actually calling it a day
  • Harley Race as a manager

Re: Any fans of the "old" WCW

Absolutely. How could a true wrestling fan not be? Loved the Sting-Vader matches. Flair/Vader at Starrcade '93. Flair/Steamboat Spring Stampede '94 and WCW Saturday Night. Flair/Austin vs Sting/Steamboat WCW Saturday Night '94. The Rude/Sting feud. Arn/Flair Fall Brawl '95.

So much goodness.

Re: Any fans of the "old" WCW

WCW 92,93 and early 94 is a very underrated era. Great matches, characters, storylines, so many diamonds in the rough at this time. Thousand times better than the shitty WCW Hogan pre-nWo era

Re: Any fans of the "old" WCW

It was a very good couple of years for the most part, sandwiched right in between the awfulness of 1991 and the eventual badness of late 1994-1995.

Its also a tribute to just how badly the Fed mismanaged Vader. Dude was a fucking great performer and character, and they just pissed his talent away.

You say you was a fan of the years 92, 93 and 94 before something happened in 99 and 2000? Stop trolling

Original WCW was the best. I enjoyed Luger as a heel.
