Shawn Michaels Title Forfeits
If i remember, he dropped a variety of belts he held at certain times about 6 or 8 occasions, some say he didn't want to job to certain stars?
How many titles did he forfeit?

Re: Shawn Michaels Title Forfeits
No one nknows for sure if he wanted to do jobs or not, but according to certain bitter wrestlers he did.
As far for the title Forfits
IC title reign no.1 - Shawn was stripped due to testing positive for steroids (Which HBK to this day deny he did steroids at that occasion)
IC title reign no.2 he lost to by pinfall to his friend Marty Jannetty (Not a clean victory)
IC title reign no.3 HBK forfitted the title Dean Douglas after getting assutled outside the ring in real life. Accroding to legend HBK also had issues with Douglas and did not want to drop it to him, but that has not been confirmed.
Tag Team Title reign no.1 HBK split from Diesel in a storyline thus vacating the titles. They could easily have dropped the titles to any other team
Tag Team Title reign no.2 HBK and Diesel were stripped of the titles due the fact they pinned the wrong man in the match. I have never heard any story of them refusing to drop the titles
Tag Team Title reign no.3 HBK ended up in a real fight with Bret Hard backstage, and temporarely left the company which resutled in him vacating his part of the championship
WWF Title Reign no.1 HBK was pinned by Sid after being hit with at Camera. (Not a clean loss for HBK)
WWF Title Reign no.2 HBK forfitted the title because he lost his smile. I think this from where the rumors started thatHBK did not want to drop titles since he had Back stage heat with the majority of the lockerroom.
WWF title Reign no.3 Steve Austin pinned HBK for the title, after Undertkaer supposedly had threatened HBK to do the job or he would have to face the consquenses. It is worth to mention that Tyson was heavily involved in that match and I dont consider it a totally clean loss
European title reign no.1 HBK laid down to his good friend and partner Triple H since HBK already was the world champion.
World title Reign no.1 HBK lost clean in a three stages of hell match to his good friend Triple H
Tag Team Title Reign no.4 HBK eliminated his own partner in a Battle Royal for the tag team championship, thus never losing the title so to say
So I woudl say that the numbers dont lie, I think it is obvious that no matter what the cricumstances were. HBK had to a certain degree problems with dropping titles. But then again, he is far from the only one with that attitude

But Hogan, Austin, Hart, Rock, undertaker, Ultimate Warrior, John Cena, HHH all lost a titles with screwy finishes - it's the way wrestling is. It's entertaining.

I always thought HBK should have had his final World title reign during his feud with Jericho in 2008.

The original finger poke of doom. Its ok though since they are WWE guys. It was horrible when Hogan and Nash did the same thing. /sarcasm

At least they lost them in actual matches regardless of how it happened (for most of those title switches).

There's truth to this but it was the European Title and not the World Title like it was in WCW. If I recall, there was controversy about Shawn beating the Bulldog in England for the title. The European belt never got much respect.

Thing is, HBK still defends his decision to beat Bulldog for the European title at ONO 1997 in England, to gain heat for the formation of DX baby

Hmm, a European Title match that done to out smart Slaugther's brilliant plan to cause tension in DeGeneration X vs. A heavily hyped WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP match that killed any hope of a resurgence by WCW. I wonder which is worse. I think it could be more comparable if WCW didn't hype and build this match up, only to shit on everyone that still had interest.
But strictly pertaining to the topic, LOL @ Michaels. I think something that should be noted, my mistake if I over read it, is that immediately after Michaels dropped the IC Title to Dean Douglas, his buddy Razor won it back. Only for Shawn to regain a month later.

Just a minor clarification.
Shawn won the belt from Jarrett. I want to say about 1-2 months later, he retained it at Summerslam in the ladder match with Razor. About 2 months after that, he forfeited the title. Shane was awarded the title, lost it to Razor later that night and Razor held it for about 3 months before dropping it to Goldust.
It should be noted that in this period (September 1995), Shawn & Diesel "won" the tag team titles, which gave them every belt in WWE. But, they were stripped for reasons I still don't understand. But I remember watching that match and being happy as hell. As a kid, I didn't know they pinned the wrong man, as Pettengill only showed the end of the match.
