I feel like it wouldn't have worked without him.

He was a top babyface for his entire career at that point and literally no one saw it coming. I feel if Hogan hadn't turned, the NWO wouldn't be one of the most powerful stables in wrestling history.

Hulks turn made the nwo. Grabbed headlines, made it newsworthy and seem a HUGE deal.

Virgil joining was equally just as huge.

He was probably the nWo's most important character for the first few yrs, and the best at promos. So yeah, he made it work. He's basically an Attitude Era icon because of it.

I think it would have, especially if Sting turned heel or they were able to bring Bret in.

It wouldn't have been as huge, because it wouldn't have had the huge launching pad of hogan's heel turn. But once that happened he could have disappeared quickly and it wouldn't have mattered that much. The NWO IMO was the Outsiders and more specifically Scott hall. It could have worked without hogan, or without Nash, but not without hall.

lol Hogan was a big part, but there was no nWo without Hall and Nash. they were far more important pieces to the puzzle than Hogan. in some cases Hogan was a detriment.

All depends on who replaced him; Bret Hart or Shawn Michaels and yeah it still would have been huge.

Im not sure how well it would have gone with Sting turning, no one wanted to boo him and it wouldnt have fit with the coming in and taking over idea at the beginning of the run
