The one which ended in the greatest match ever?

P.S: Note the sarcasm.

I agree with the OP. It was the perfect storyline until the end of the match, it could be the final nail in the coffin of WWE and the perfect moment for WCW to establish themselves as the ultimate #1.

For some reason this is for me even worse than the Starrcade finish. It was a lame, controversial finish but if they did it right in the weeks after the PPV they could benefit from it like for example WWE with the Montreal Screwjob. It was not the ending everybody wanted, in fact it was terrible, but if they continued the next weeks with creative writing it would make the Starrcade match even more infamous and memorable what would lead to a final grdge match but with Sting stripped of the title they just ignored the 1 year build up

They got cute with it.

Sting gets stripped and the title is vacant. We will determine the real world champion at SuperBrawl.

SuperBrawl uses the same crazy ending with ref bumps and NWO interference.

Honestly? I don't know if it was the best storyline, but it is pretty high up there.

If they had just booked the Starrcade match properly....just...GAH!!!! WCW, por que?

Wrestling moves so much quicker now than even 15 years ago, so pacing was what really helped that storyline. Now, Unless they were holding out for Mania, Sting would've been wrestling again with in 3 months... tops.

It was the biggest selling PPV of all time up to that point. That tells you it was the best built storyline going. The finish to the PPV killed the heat though.

But the build was priceless.

LOL at people not reading the first post. He said "up to the Starrcade match" So stop saying it sucked because of the Starrcade match, that is not what he is asking. Idiots...

Yeah, it was pretty good but there were better storylines in wrestling before that. I.E. Bret vs. Owen and The Megapowers Explode.

I think it was the greatest buildup for a match in my lifetime. So much was done right on a week to week basis.
