Re: Best match in IYH history
Canadian Stampede was a great event, as well as the 10-man tag, I was super-impressed by Taka Michinoku vs Great Sasuke (some awesome high-flying action that hadn't been seen in WWF to that degree at the time), and entertained by HHH vs Mankind which went through the crowd and out of the arena, and they kept going back to them brawling outside while other matches were on!
Should be an interesting DVD set to check out!

Shawn Michaels vs Mankind at IYH: Mind Games. It was a phenomenal brawl. Shawn Michaels vs Diesel at IYH: Good friends, better enemies is another favorite gem of mine and also Diesel's best match.

Re: Best match in IYH history
The best match IMO is Taker v Shawn HIAC at Bad Blood 97. Probably my fave match of all time.
It's still the best HIAC by far. Everything they did with the cell made sense and happened organically, rather than being obviously set up for the sake of the stunt which is what they do in the modern era.
Shawn did what he does best, take a beating. He made Taker look like a 10 foot monster again, and Taker played his role perfectly showing no mercy in pursuing Michaels.
The build up was amazing and the introduction of Kane was seamless. The vision of Kane ripping the door off and forcing his way through with one arm was amazing.
Not to mention the announcing by Vince, JR and King was brilliant.
2a, b and c is Canadian Stampede 10 man tag, Mankind v Michaels Mind Games, Diesel v Michaels Better Enemies....

On topic: Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker at Badd Blood.
Off topic: Those of you saying 'Michaels vs. Mankind' at Mind Games, did you guys get annoyed or even notice how HBK acts early on in the match? I recently watched this match again, and as much as I enjoy it, Shawn pisses me off so much at the same time.
It looks like Mankind messes up a spot, during an Irish Whip reversal, where Shawn hops onto the ropes and I'm assuming is trying for a crossbody, but Mankind stays in the opposite corner. Shawn gets down, kinda throws his hands out and says something. Awkward back and forth, where Mankind slaps Shawn in the face. Shawn then starts laying in on the punches.
Just something that I caught, and I have no idea if there's anything behind this. Close timing with the Vader incident from Summerslam just two months prior.

Watch Shawn's title defense against Sid at Survivor Series in November of that year. Way worse, and way more noticeable. They were in MSG for that and the fans were booing him and cheering Sid, and Shawn gets very easily frazzled, swearing at the fans and just generally acting like a spoiled prima donna.
Honestly didn't notice it as much in the Mind Games match, but it wouldn't surprise me. I guess the atmosphere, intensity and storytelling, combined with what was actually going on in the ring, were so great that I was focusing on that way more.

Re: Best match in IYH history
The Ten Man Tag Match at Canadian Stampede had a big match feel to it. The crowd was so hot and just adored the Hart Foundation. The psychology of the match was strong, too. All ten men got in offense during the bout. The Final Four match between Bret Hart, Vader, Steve Austin, and the Undertaker was also a favorite of mine. Vader got busted open big in that match and kept going. I think he earned respect from a lot of WWF fans even in defeat.
Re: Mankind vs. Shawn Michaels at Mind Games- I remember hearing Shawn say that those spots were planned by Foley after the incident with Vader at Summerslam. Michaels said this as a way of putting Foley over as a great mind for the business because he would blur the lines between what was real and not. Hopefully someone else can recall this. I think it was from Shawn's shoot interview after his first retirement.

Re: Best match in IYH history
Best ones have been said.
One of my favorite moments was Brian Christopher and Jerry Lawler doing commentary on a lightweight title match at No Way Out in 98 featuring Taka. They spend the whole match abusing Taka (whom BC was feuding with) and them denying they were father and son. It's genuinely funny stuff.

Re: Best match in IYH history
Hell in a Cell: Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker.
A true ***** match. Perfect in every way which ended with one of the greatest debuts of all time which kick started one of, if not the greatest feuds and story lines of all time between Kane and The Undertaker. Honourable mention to the 10 man tag match at Canadian Stampede as that was all out carnage.

I've heard that was something Folley and Shawn came up with to work people who were looking for HBK's next hissy fit.
