Looking back I guess they wanted to push the Nation to the next level and it worked out for them thanks to the feud with D-Generation X (which may have been a result of long term thinking thanks to the Owen-Triple H rivalry). Well, everyone except Owen, who was just left floundering in rubbish feuds with Dan Severn and Steve Blackman.
Wait, how was Owen Harts face run a disaster? IMO the Black Hart angle was great and he was definitely over enough to being a huge main event player...it was just handled wrong when he lost to HHH and got repeatedly owned by DX.

He was the Black Hart, what's so weird that he joined a black stable?

Plus, when Owen joined The Nation, both he and The Nation were recovering from extremely vocal, irrational hatred of an entire group of people. Owen (Americans) and The Nation (White People). They also had a common enemy in DX.

I feel Owen was the worst member of NOD. Not because he's white, I felt Crush was pretty good, but more so that Owen didn't really have that attitude that NOD was all about. Plus, by the time he joined, it was all about protecting Rock and Owen was just there. Everything he accomplished as a member of NOD, he could have did on his own, as NOD at that point only served 1 purpose and that was to build up Rock.

Re: Best Nation Of Domination members

Yeah, Owen was more traditional and too old-school to be in The Nation I felt, and to be honest I think Owen was way out of place during the whole Attitude Era. Without Bret and Bulldog he seemed lost. His stint in the Nation didn't exactly last long so who cares.

To the other guy concerning his face run in 1998 being ruined by the constant losses to DX and HHH, yeah that's what I meant.
