How about match quality? Since WCW is known to be more "wrestling-oriented".

Re: Things Nitro did better than Raw during the Monday Night Wars

I see people saying that the production value of WCW's shows was better, which I guess I agree with from 1995 to 1996. The problem, everything of WCW's seemed to never get better. By 2000, it was like comparing diamonds (Raw) to dog shit (Nitro), as far as production goes.

That has got to be Kane.

Re: Things Nitro did better than Raw during the Monday Night Wars

WWF didn't have better wrestlers until 2000 when they brought in the WCW guys. The AE was pretty pathetic for matches after HBK and Bret left and before the WCW guys got there(basically all of 98 and 99). Nitro was better than Raw for about the first year and a half until the Austin/Hart Foundation fued got going. This isn't revisionist history I watched both Raw and Nitro from the beginning.

Re: Things Nitro did better than Raw during the Monday Night Wars

WCW had an incredible roster, bringing in talent from all corners of the world. Unfortunately, they had no idea what to do with most of them. Match quality was dependent on who was performing. However, through the companies' own neglect, many wrestlers got themselves over because talent will usually shine through.

I liked how WCW presented itself as part of the greater wrestling world, while WWF tended to ignore everything outside its own little bubble often rewriting history to suite their own purpose (something we see WWE continue to do to this day).

Random matches, because it was a wrestling show after all. Alex Wright vs Scott Norton, why?, just because...it's fucking wrestling, not everything needs a back story.

I love professional-wrestling.

Re: Things Nitro did better than Raw during the Monday Night Wars

Eh, I think the nwo angle was the only thing WCW ever did that was better, and they rode that as long as they could. Also all the big money acquisitions, when it came to actual creativity, angles, and presentation I always felt WWF was miles ahead, except for the nwo like I mentioned.

With all the money they were throwing around, there's really no excuse for them losing the monday night wars.

Re: Things Nitro did better than Raw during the Monday Night Wars

wwf didn't have a real tag team division, wcw did

wwf despite having better wrestlers were still using the oldschool style and the techical masterclasses were far and few between whereas in wcw it was a free-for-all for the undercarders almost every night
