The "Wright" Stuff

Alex Wright has always been one of my favorite wrestlers ever. he had the looks and drive to really make an impression in WCW. He even notched up one reign each with the TV, Cruiserweight, and tag team titles...

But never went beyond that and it always makes me ask why?

He was fundamentally solid and was a fantastic flyer. Did he just show up in the wrong decade or what?

Not removing until-

- The VaudeVillains win the tag titles
- Perry Saturn returns for one night only.
- Mojo Rawley wins a title. any title.
- Emma wins the womens title.

He couldn't promo. He always sounded fake and uncomfortable.

Like Tatanka and Ahmed Johnson, he was a beloved babyface, but once he turned heel, he never recovered.

At first I thought this thread was going to be about Paul Wright.

Re: The "Wright" Stuff

WCW had a TON of guys who were much better wrestlers than him and just about everyone was better than him on the mic...

He also always had a really stupid gimmick.

I was just thinking about him the other day because of the blonde he had with him as translator when he was Berlyn.

He was terribly underrated. Crazy as it sounds, I would take him over Castagnoli.

Re: The "Wright" Stuff

I liked him pre Berlyn it's good to see he's trying to build wrestling in Germany. He also says he watches more TNA than the E these days so he's alright by me
