re: WCW Discussion Thread because people get asshurt about JUST RUSSO
Hate to double post but I had to post this. The first (and IIRC, last) TV appearance of Kevin Nash's nephew, ironically named "Hunter", who nearly gets trampled by a raging Scott Steiner, in his attempt to get Vince Russo. Nash goes to jail, because "he works for idiots" and tells Steiner to watch Hunter. Steiner loses Hunter after his match with Kanyon (despite Hunter not even coming to the ring with Steiner or the girls) and starts fighting police.
My question is, Hunter ends up with Russo, basically kidnapped but the police Russo, the suspect and fighting with Steiner, why?

I think I remember that particular Nitro. I believe Steiner then had a gimmick cage-type match with Tank Abbott that night.
But yeah, Russo booking 101. As convoluted as ever.
re: WCW Discussion Thread because people get asshurt about JUST RUSSO
Jim Cornette, whose old-style, Southern-based approach often clashed with his New York-bred colleague’s harder-edged, “less wrestling” creative direction, was one of Russo’s most vocal detractors during his WWF tenure and predicted last week that Russo ” will fall flat on his face” in WCW.
“He has no respect for the wrestling business or anybody in it,” said Cornette, ” and that’s going to be more obvious there where they won’t have anyone to control him. I think The Ultimate Warrior deserved the money he made more than Russo. I have always in the past thought The Ultimate Warrior was the epitome of a guy making money with no talent. Sable deserved her money more than Russo. At least she didn’t try to make the entire business a joke, just her part of it, because of her lack of talent.”
All of that got me.

Funniest thing I've seen, there's a guy who reviewed WCW shows from 2000 and would always list Hulk Hogan as "Stone Cold" Hulk Hogan during his F.U.B.A.R. days.
