Default Re: WWF WrestleMania 2

isn't that the card where 40% of the wrestlers are now dead or something?

[edit] Not quite, just one of the venues

WWF WrestleMania 2 4/10 40.00%
WWF WrestleMania X 7/20 35.00%
WWF SummerSlam '90 9/26 34.62%
I-Generation Rodman Down Under 4/12 33.33%
WWF SummerSlam '88 9/28 32.14%
WCW The Great American Bash '92 5/16 31.25%
WWF WrestleMania VI 11/36 30.56%
WWF In Your House 6: Rage In The Cage 3/10 30.00%
WWF WrestleMania VII 10/36 27.78%
WWF The Wrestling Classic 5/18 27.78%

Wrestlemania, - Wrestlings biggest killer.

New York

Savage vs. The Animal was pretty good, but nothing special. Savage deserved a much better opponent for a show this big.
Mr. T vs. Piper was okay, mostly thanks to Piper sellng it like a champ.
The other matches blew.

Chicago

Bulldogs/Dynamite vs. Dream Team was a great tag match.
Battle Royal was okay, but the rest was forgettable.

Los Angeles

Steamboat vs. Hernandez and The Funks vs. Tito/JYD were both okay matches.
Hogan/Bundy in a cage bored me to tears.

Had this been one card, still wouldn't rank it any higher than 5/10. Horrible followup to the first one.

Running Wrestlemania from 3 different venues was an experiment. I very aggressive and risky one at that. I wouldn't all it a failure, but I wouldn't call it a success because they needed to have Vince Mcmahon in every venue.

I think it would be interesting to see the opinions of the card/show in relation to age of those replying. If you started watching WWF in the 90's, like during the Attitude Era, and saw Wrestlemania 2 on tape, yeah, you're probably not going to like it.

You might have a point. I was quite young when WM 2 happened. I probably saw it on VHS around '90 or '91. Didn't see my first WM as it happened until 7, although I stand by the opinion that 7 was much better than 2.

Opinions vary. Bulldogs were one of the best tag teams of the era.

Of course. And Bulldogs were great. But, the Funks match tops the work in the Bulldogs vs Dream Team bout and then some.

Underrated gold.

Shit Wrestlemania tbh. T and Piper is the one thing that has withstood the test if time and even that was awful.
