Default Best Attitude Era PPV

I looked for a thread on this but couldn't find one. What is your favourite (not necessarily best) PPV during the Attitude Era excluding Wrestlemania?

For me one of my favourites was the Survivor Series Deadly Games. It was similar to a King Of The Ring tournament but it had the Championship as the prize, meaning the matches basically all contained great wrestlers.

Although Rock wasn't yet in his prime it had the great wrestlers of the AE apart from Triple H and it was all on one night meaning the PPV had great meaning. It had twists and possibly was the best PPV that brought together the best talent contributing to one storyline.

To me this was a catalyst in the Attitude Era becoming what it did because arenas improved, the mid-card did and it also showed which directions certain wrestlers should have gone in.

Thoughts?

Fully Loaded 99. Damn that was a good pay per view, and so much better than the clusterfuck that followed it at SummerSlam.

Fully Loaded 99 had a stacked card, and the main storylines all weaved in and out of several matches, not just the main events. If there was ever a pay per view that really captured the soap opera action that the WWF was known for back then... its this pay per view.

Then you have Backlash 2000. It was so damn good, you couldn't help but ask yourself why we didn't get THIS event for Mania that year instead of the shit we got. It was one of those events where you looked back after it was over and go "yeah, that was worth my money." I think I paid $29.95 if my memory serves me correctly for that event.

No wonder WWE can never win with everyone because most are just looking for some super technical explanation on why something was not done right.

D'oh! I'd say Royal Rumble 2000 in that case. Hardy Boyz vs. Dudley Boyz, Cactus Jack vs. Triple H in the MATCH OF THE DECADE, and the Royal Rumble match itself which is entertaining 99% of the time anyway.

Let's forget that Mae Young got her jugs out though, shall we? Even if they were fake.

Also, Survivor Series 1998 is another contender. The storytelling throughout the whole PPV was second to none, with Shane and Rock turning heel. One of the few things Russo actually did a great job at. However, the matches themselves on the PPV were mostly utter shit, so that brings it down.

Why must it be just attitude era? Personally I think Summerslam 2002 was the best ppv excluding wrestlemania.

But for this thread I guess it's a toss up between summerslam 2000 or royal rumble 2001
