Who was more important for marketing Hulk Hogan or Michael Jordan?
I'm talking in terms of popularity, drawing power, and importance each guy brought to their respective sports. Yes I know it's kind of a silly question to ask on a wrestling forum, but I'm interested to read peoples' responses to this.

Jordan was far bigger, he's a legitimate sports icon. No matter how big you get in wrestling, you're always gonna be looked at as a circus act by the general public. It's something that you can never live down. Even Rock, who's by far the biggest mainstream star ever in the business, will never be able to get past this built in image. He could win an Oscar and they'd still look at him as "just a wrestler".
"Young wrestlers, those of you hoping to make a career of this and get into this business somehow, I cannot stress this enough, be as tall as you can" - Vinny V on Baron Corbin
