"Kane" under multiple gimmicks

During late 90s(and any time before 2003) since using internet, google images and all that wasn't really that common, what if Kane had multiple gimmicks during attitude era?

First one was the Kane gimmick with the mask and all that, and his 2nd gimmick was just some other person(who was unmasked and everything). Never intended to make reference to the fact that they were the same person or anything like that. Do you think people back then would have realized that they were the same person, or might have figured it out?

I don't know, maybe back then it would have been a bit easier but you probably would have had the fans who figured it out still. It wouldn't be as widely known as it is now, but it would be known.

I've often thought about whether, when Glen Jacobs wanted to remove the mask, the WWE could have found a guy with talent, of similar frame, and given the mask to him. Then, Glen Jacobs gets to debut as another character.

Not very feasible, but still, an interesting thought.

WWE had in the past done things like that, putting mutiple guys under a mask and passing them off as the same person, even Cara at one point was someone else I think... (maybe it was the other one)

its been done and can be done, but hardar now

90's to, how ever it was so popular that even with less ways to know many would still know IMO

Kane as the big red monster is the best IMO. Had the in-ring ability and persona to be deemed as big a figure as the Undertaker but the whole point of him not talking didn't exactly work in the Attitude Era hence the X-Pac, Tori storyline instead of headlining Wrestlemania '00.

He has an extremely distinctive wrestling style. Also, there were more fans on the internet than you think.

Also, it doesn't make sense to bring him out as different characters when he was already established and over as Kane.

I'm sure people would have noticed, even if it would have passed in kayfabe. You don't exactly find many people of his build, especially how massive he was in the late 90s. It's not like he's Ric Flair lol.

Isaac Yankem at least had a great match with Bret at Summerslam. He was too good to be Fake Diesel, Nash could never work that good in the ring. Kane is one the best gimmicks of all time, he's had it for 15 years.

I think a gimmick like that would work better with a babyface, sort of like a Superman/Clark Kent type of deal.
