The start of Nitro. The Savage-Flair feud.
At least 1995 ended with an optimistic note.

Yeah, that's what I started to noticed when writing that list. Kinda funny how it turns out that way.

1994 is my fave year of that era, every pay per view was good and there were tons of great matches on Raw, then 1995 sucked ass. I never really understood how it could do downhill so quickly.

- Flair/Savage feud was good and expanded nicely on their 1992 war. Despite the clusterf**k main event, World War 3 was their best PPV since SuperBrawl III.
- We saw the arrival of Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko and Eddie Guerrero.
- Some new concepts: a live wrestling show on a beach; a 3 ring 60 man battle royal.
- The start of Pillman working the industry.
- Monday Nitro LIVE (when Raw once a month): Sting vs. Hogan, Sting vs. Flair, Savage vs. Flair, Anderson vs. Flair - this was Saturday's Night's Main Event every week and live.
- Best version of the Four Horsemen in years, with a cool angle where they retired Paul Orndorff.
- Johnny B Badd vs. DDP
- Lex Luger as a heel, but babyface when with Sting.
By the fall the foundations were in place for what would be an unmissable weekly wrestling.
Either way, wrestling on a whole was ok. ECW was on fire; NJPW was excellent.

Re: 1995: The year in prowrestling that sucked tremendously
1995 was downright terrible up until the Monday Night Raw started in September of that year. I think Hogan had a year plus long title run in WCW too.

Re: 1995: The year in prowrestling that sucked tremendously
Also needs to be said that while WWE had no top level heels in 1995, WCW's biggest heel was a rookie, a rookie who beat Hogan and won the title in his first match.
Seems like that was a rebuilding year for both companies.
