Default Analyze This: heel/face turn

Possibly one of the greatest Heel turn of all times came up with Hogan joining nWo in WCW bringing in the second boom of wrestling pushing WWE to take up Attitude Era format borrowed from ECW. It was done because Hogan, inspite of being face, was getting booed until the moment he ran into make the save for WCW and essentially shocked the audience with that leg drop.

Usually, Heel/Face turns happens when the heel wrestler gets cheered a lot or the face wrestler gets booed or in case the wrestler gets stale with his gimmick. It usually happens for a reason and as a part of a storyline.

Now, some lot considered long term heel/face turn are not happening and a few without adding any value to the story, IMHO.

Which was the most shocking/interesting heel/face turns that you experienced?

Austin turning heel and siding with McMahon was pretty shocking, even though it ended up being less-than-stellar.

In recent memory, R-Truth's heel turn was one that really stuck with me. Watching him become crazier and crazier with each promo was definitely interesting, and imo it's one of the best-executed heel turns in recent times. The run itself was off to a great start too, until that fucking random face turn...

Talent/charisma draws. Not size.

I also enjoyed the immediate face turn tease he did subsequently before screwing with the fans.

Eddie Guerrero in 2005 is my favorite. He destroyed Rey Mysterio. My personal favorite spot is him force-feeding Rey Twizzlers, even though that happened like a week or two after the initial turn.

Bret Hart's heel turn was pretty good too, as it had been teased for months. Ironic that it was all about RESPECT.

a couple that come to mind and dont freak out they arent the most shocking breath taking ones!

when Kane de masked and chokeslamed RVD thus going face to Heel was a big one

Matt Hardy hitting Jeff with the Twist of fate and exposing he was the "dark cloud" in jeffs life was entertaining and well executed

Stone Cold jumping to the alliance and Kurt jumping to the alliance as well

and Raven returning to ECW to win the tag belts with Dreamer because he was still a huge heel at the time.

those always stick with me!

One that really always stuck for me was Brock Lesnar turning heel on Kurt Angle in 2003. At the time i was 9 and a huge Lesnar mark and a McMahon hater and seeing my hero Lesnar join forces with him shocked the shit outta me. another has to be in 2005 when Triple H returned and decimated Ric Flair after teaming with him. Triple H looked like he wanted to legit kill Ric.
