Re: Survivor Series 1999

Test wouldn't have been a great replacement for Stone Cold but at least it would have given the marriage storyline a proper ending. I found it strange that it occurred and Test never tried to get revenge and possibly help from Rock/Big Show to beat Triple H.

That HHH-Rock-Austin match was supposed to happen at Wrestlemania X7 also, but out of "respect", HHH thought Rock vs Austin 1 on 1 was the right call, so...

I think I would've done it at Armageddon 2000.

It needed to happen- just not at Wrestlemania...

Re: Survivor Series 1999

There weren't long reigns back then so, looking back, it isn't too surprising that HHH dropped the title and then got it back basically a month later.

Test would have been a terrible champ: even for a few weeks. Even though Vince/HHH was a good hardcore match at Armageddon, they probably could have used Test there instead of Vince and had Vince interfere (or same match with Test interfering) and still done Stephanie's heel turn but on both Test and Vince.

It's kind of surprising they never actually did Rock/Triple H/Austin. I thought that they would for sure at WM 17 since Triple H defeated Austin at No Way Out basically setting it up. I think I remember reading that the plan was that and then Undertaker/Rikishi (that would have sucked) but Rikishi got hurt so they went with Rock/Austin and Triple H/Undertaker instead.

Wouldn't have been any worse than that weird Big Show/Bossman era at the end of 1999. God knows what they were thinking there (besides being contractually obligated to give the Big Slow a title reign).

Re: Survivor Series 1999

This PPV was meant to serve only one purpose and thats to see just how much more popular Rock was than Stone Cold. WWE were planning on turning Austin heel at this point cuz it had become very obvious he was stale and Rock had taken his spot. This was to set up there rematch at Mania X6

I'd almost forgot that he had a mini-feud with the Bossman for the title then, what were they thinking?
From some of the comments he's made on DVDs, I get a feeling he wasn't laughing, but felt he deserved that. On the "Monday Night Wars" DVD, he had some comment about feeling like the WWF signing him was one of the big reasons they won the war. Something along those lines. Are you fucking kidding me? The guy thinks he's on Rock's / Austin's level, it seems.

If the whole wrestling 'world' could have looked forward a year and saw that Rikishi was the one who ran over Austin, I believe every single person would say "WHAT THE FUCK", Rikishi included.
