Ric Flair why GOAT?

Firstly, apologies if another thread like this had been opened.I would just like to know what makes Ric Flair the GOAT. I mean you people bitch about Cena so much for using only 5 moves. i have seen Flair only do 5 moves as well. To be fair, I have only seen his post 2000 work, since he was Raw GM. I mean I tried to watch a classic broadway b/w him and dusty rhodes, but it bored me to sleep and and I couldn't watch more than 10 mins of that. It looked like they were sleeping on the mat.
I have also heard a lot about his mic skills, but I always had difficulty understanding what he was saying. When he got all angry and red, all I would hear is " HAY U DUABDUABDUABDBABD ME, I ASSAGAS", sort of like Khali. I mean went and saw his old promos too and they too, I mean did he have an accent or lisp or some sort of speech irregularity.Don't know and not just making fun of him.
His selling seemed fake and over the top, especially the walk and flop and the turn over at the turnbuckle.
And I know in most of his matches, he worked on the leg. Didn't it get repetitive. And I'm pretty sure in the 80's when he was NWA champ for a majority of the time, Hulk Hogan overshadowed him and was more famous.
But it seems to me like he is really passionate about wrestling, but I often ask myself that if that is true, why was a bouncer first and only became a wrestler after someone told him?

Seriously, if you have only seen his post 2000 work and claim he only does 5 moves, you are really in no place to discredit Flair.

Sure, Hogan was more famous in the 80s because WWE at that point was entertainment. Flair was the epitome of a World Champion and could basically get a good match out of anybody. My favorite from that time period is Flair/Funk in an I Quit match.

And yeah, you seem like a troll. Red rep.

Re: Ric Flair why GOAT?

First off, please don't mention Flair/Cena together in the same sentence. Second, yes maybe Ric's matches got predictible, and he did a lot of the same things in his last 10 years or so of active competition, but go back to the 80s even early-mid 90s, all of his classic matches, how many matches he had during those time, his promo skills, his match emotions when he was the champion, how he could work with a broom and get it over, etc, etc. I have exactly 650 of his matches on DVD, and just watching some of those 45 min - 1 hour matches are just masterpieces, we'll never see pure mat classics like those again.
If he came back as an active wrestler today, he'd be better than 95% of the active roster in the WWE. There's so much more that I could say about this topic, but I think your post is pretty uninformed, and you don't really know what you're talking about and what to base a true legend on.

Re: Ric Flair why GOAT?

There's been a few threads on this Flair GOAT stuff, plus you can use the sticky thread in general WWE.
