Who was the best at promos during the golden era (pre 1995)

I was watching promos from the golden era and for the most part its just guys flexing and nodding their head in the background and having coked out roid rages on the mic.

Flair on the other hand was captivating and made you hate him

Rick Rude was second in my opinion

Jake Roberts. Only Cactus Jack, Roddy Piper and Razor Ramon came close at the time.

Talent/charisma draws. Not size.

If we're talking about WWE only:

Jake Roberts
Roddy Piper
Ted Dibiase
Randy Savage

"Yes, I can hear you Clem Fandango!"

I'm riding with Flair & Piper. They're promos at Royal Rumble 1992 and Flair's at WM 8 are all times classics.

Mr. Perfect was pretty good too. He had the perfect voice (no pun intended) for promos and had enough charisma to pass around.

Mr. Perfect was also an excellent heel commentator.

The Brain, The Snake and The Bad Guy were always my favorites....

And just from being young at the time...like 5-10...Hogan's promos were always my favorite, even though looking back i see how cheesy they were
