Re: Owen Hart had go away heat in 99

yeah i dont think owen had a real future as a main eventer. he couldnt break the glass ceiling in the 90s, no way he coulda done it in the heart of the attitude era surrounded by rock, austin, triple H and co

shame, he was a great guy, but i dont think he had it in him

Re: Owen Hart had go away heat in 99

The only person that stopped Owen being a world champion was Owen. look at all the comments from the people he worked with

Bret, Austin, Jarrett, Vince all have said Owen was never interested in the politics. He never wanted to be a wrestler he wanted to be a fireman. All he was was a guy who was incredibly talented at something who went out and had fun.

Wrestlemania 30 was awesome

3 Axxess events
Hogan VIP
Flair VIP
Wrestlecon session 1
Hall Of Fame Section 113 Row 11 Seat 1
Wrestlemania Section 140 Row 20 Seat 14.
Monday Night Raw Section 123 Row 16 seat 6

Re: Owen Hart had go away heat in 99

owen didnt have go away heat he was just very very good at being the heel

he used to piss me off something chronic but there wasnt really a time (that i know of) when the crowd gave him go away heat.

who knows whether or not he could have been world champ. I would imagine he would join mr perfect in the elite club of wrestling greats that never got the belt.

Agreed that there's no such thing as "go away" heat. If you're not really interested in watching someone, you could just stay there in your seat or use it as an opportunity to go to the bathrooms like most people do for diva matches.

I think why people actually hated XPac back in 99 to 2001 was pretty much because of his unlikable douchey mannerisms. It was cool in 98, but when the DX train died down, he came across as that ultra annoying tag along guy that would act cocky just because he had awesome, actually cool buddies.

If he was alive he could have had an amazing feud with Eddie Guerrero in 2004.

Agreed except I liked the Blue Blazer gimmick

If you looked at archived internet forum comments in 1999, people felt the same way about everyone. From Rock to Austin to Undertaker. There were quite abit of threads of people talking about how Rock/Austin aren't interesting, how Taker in early 90s was so much better and stuff like that

Re: Owen Hart had go away heat in 99

But what is "go away heat"? I always thought it was ECW style, when fans flat out say you suck and don't come back or at the least, when as a heel, you get no reaction whatsoever.

I just think people set expectations too high for Owen and he remained in his brothers shadow. I'm pretty damn positive that he wouldn't have been champion in WWE. Regardless of how good a wrestler he was, do you actually see the Blue Blazer gimmick getting the rub over Austin, Rock, Taker or HHH? And the Owen character was pretty bland, except from between 94-96 and during his feud with HBK after Bret left.

Re: Owen Hart had go away heat in 99

I think fans were frustrated, not at Owen, but rather at the lack of direction his character had. I certainly don't think he had 'go away heat'.
