I've been watching over the Attitude Era for the last couple of months, I started at King of the Ring '96, and I'm currently at March 2000. I can't really figure out which I've enjoyed more, I loved 98 and 99 specifically but 2000 is showing ALOT of potential so far and if it keeps up like this I think it might be my favourite year. But 2001 (which is apparently not considered as Attitude Era as the others) has the whole invasion angle, an awesome 'Mania and stuff more me to get to.

The knowing Punk personally thread, while turning into a joke thread, had a lot of great stories in it, here are some of my Punk stories that didn't make the cut:
1) He's my postman
2) I'm the caretaker for his swimming pool when he's on the road
3) He lives in my basement
4) I taught him everything he knows about wrestling
5) He was in my high school math class but he got kicked out for cheating off me.
Moral of the story: Everyone needs to laugh every once in a while.
Damn, I mistakenly voted 1998 but it was damn good, as well.
I meant to vote 1997, as that was my favorite year. The card was so stacked and similar to 1998, everybody had the chance to get over. I mainly liked 1997 because of Austin/Bret and HBK/Bret but 1998 is up there too, with Austin/McMahon, the rise of The Rock and both years had the best DX moments.
I liked between 2000 and 2001 because the wrestling got a LOT better in that period. I feel 1999 was more about the story lines and promos than the actual wrestling. In 2001 Benoit, Angle, Guerrero, Jericho were already high mid-carders and ocasional main eventers, Triple H was in top shape (before the quads injury), you had Austin, The Rock, Undertaker doing great wrestling.
It was really hard to decide between 1998 and 1999 but I choose 1999 because the segments and storylines were more over the top and more spectacular
LOL Actually that's the reason i didn't liked that year. I respect your opinion but im a Wrestling Fan, in ring performance is what it comes down to it. Im not very much into the segments and promos.
1997. In WWE you had the first HIAC, you had the screwjob, Kane, DX at their best, Austin possibly at his best imo.. In WCW you had the Hogan/Sting build up and all around good stuff. ECW was getting hot, their first ppv was in '97 I think.. yeah.
*edit - Austin vs Bret, with the blood flowing down Austin's face and JR screaming "HIS FACE IS A CRIMSON MASK!"
It was their hottest time, imo. Riding the momentum of 1999 into the year and it carried the entire way through. The emergence of the uber great tag team division, Radicalz joining, HHH's best career run, Jericho on fire, FOLEY in every aspect, Undertaker's return, Angle's rise to the top, etc. It's all spectacular.
1997 gets a VERY close mention though.
