Rick & Scott Steiner vs. Kensuke Sasaki & Hiroshi Hase
Just finished watching this match that won wrestling observer match of the year award for 1991 and compared to some of the other tag matches that won the same award i really fail to see anything special, does any one have any other matches they felt deserved this award.

because Dave Meltzer is high on japanese guys. Atleast that's what 90% of the IWC says.
Which tag matches have you compared with this one? Steiners vs Sting and Luger at Superbrawl, which was also great imo. |
Re: Rick & Scott Steiner vs. Kensuke Sasaki & Hiroshi Hase
I'll be honest. I felt the exact same way about this match that you did. I was really disappointed when I watched it. Wargames was far better.

I loved Steiners vs Sting and Luger from Superbrawl. I havent seen the aforementioned match, but I'll look it up at some point.

It' a good match, but definitely an overrated one. I can see why someone would like it a lot, but it getting MOTY awards is baffling.

Re: Rick & Scott Steiner vs. Kensuke Sasaki & Hiroshi Hase
Sometimes a match can't possibly live up to the hype. I heard for years how great Savage/Steamboat WM3 match was and by the time I finally got my hands on a copy I wasn't that excited by it. I mean it was still a great match but sometimes the hype ruins it for you because you go in with such sky high unrealistic expectations.
