It was a great feud, obviously. But what always struck me as kind of sad was that none of the fans knew that WM 19 was Austin's last match. If the fans knew, and they were able to add that into the feud, that this was Austin's last match, it would have been epic.

I never got tired of it because it's not like it was one hugely drawn-out feud that never seemed to end, it was always something that the company just went back to. They weren't fighting and main-eventing pay-per-views straight through from '99 to '03. They'd feud, move on to others, capture a few more Titles and then circle back around to one another. And people kept clamoring for more.

I'm in the minority that hated Austin in his singing dancing phase when he was with Debra. I was really done with him by that point and didn't find it funny at all. Then the "what" started.....I was done

I never got tired of it. They never had the intense rivalry of a Dusty/Flair, or Freebirds vs the Von Erich's, but Rock and Austin had amazing chemistry together. You could tell that they liked working with each other. They never had a bad match with each other. They would keep them apart every other year so the momentum wouldn't run out of steam.

Nope. Every single one of their feuds from 97 to 03 were amazing. They just had this chemistry together which made every moment they interacted feel special. I thought when they started feuding in 2003 that it would feel a bit old but they still managed to have a great feud and a kick ass match at WrestleMania. If anything it was the perfect rivalry. They both had a turn at being face/heel, and even faces at the time. The feud also ended in a very professional manner with The Rock finally beating Austin. Now both wrestlers have this admiration and respect for each other both on screen and in real life. I can't think of a more perfect feud in wrestling history.

Rock vs HHH was also very good but the competitive tension between the two spoilt it a little bit with the wrong wrestler winning on certain occasions, Triple H @ WM 2000 for example.

I loved their feud over the Intercontinental title in late 1997 through to early 1998 and i saw the chemistry they had right then although i never expected their feud to then go on and become the single biggest money making feud of all time. As far as storyline goes i LOVED their feud in 1999 which had been slowly built on the backdrop of Austin/McMahon and Rock/Foley and i liked part of their final feud in 2003 although i found it to be very one sided at times in favour of The Rock.

Last year or maybe the year before i actually made a thread in which i asked if their 2001 feud was the most overrated feud of all time because i simply didn't think storyline wise it was anywhere near the level of their feud in 1999 was at. I found the feud going into WrestleMania 17 simply got by because of how HUGE both men were in terms of star power and the fact it was a babyface vs babyface match which made the upcoming match unpredictable but WWE booked the feud quite lazily and simply threw Debra in as an attempt to make a storyline.
