The only interesting thing Hogan did in WCW was turn heel. The only reason his heel turn was a big deal was because he was the biggest babyface off all timee in the WWF. It has nothing to do with anything he did in WCW. He was coasting off his past in WWF and was probably the worst wrestler in the world from 96-00.

In reality, New Jack, Abdullah The Butcher, Ahmed Johnson, 911, Goldberg and dozens of others where far worse wrestlers than Hogan during those years.

His heel turn was big due to his massive popularity but he also kept WCW in business a lot longer than it should have been. Him turning heel turned the ratings around, during a time where Time Warner did not want to be affiliated with wrestling. Not to mention, it added another dimension to the Hogan character and allowed the repackaging of Sting. Hogan's heel turn was a pretty big deal and had a positive effect on the entire business and those in it.

His heel turn was the first in nearly 10 years that was a big deal and gave the business momentum and created a surge.

Talent/charisma draws. Not size.
