No-one was ever going to be able to work opposite Sayama as well as Fujiwara did. Amazes me people cite the DK/Sayama series as ground breaking when I can't think of one match of their series that's better than the worst Fujiwara/Tiger Mask matches. Oh man now I'm contemplating Fujiwara in WOS and giving myself a headache at what we could have been treated to.
Btw, the other Rocco/Jones bout is from 7/26/78 Hanoi. I imagine it'll be on Youtube with either the exact or similar date (there's usually a discrepancy between the taped date and the actual air date on the youtube videos so anything mid-late july or early august will be the match).

Liger can't hold a candle to someone? If Jones doesn't blow me away I'll come at you for ever so slightly not putting over Liger even though you actually did in a more true to form situation. So....yeah. It's pressure time. (you'll have to wait. Think I should power nap it to get SOME sleep for today. Then I can watch some before I decide to do whatever it is I'll do to knock this day out.
Yeah touring wrestlers particularly those of the Japanese persuasion were very popular because of a seemingly revolutionary and ground-breaking style that was a real novelty for those in attendance.
I'm speaking purely from a British perspective. Jones mastered the style and is one of the quintessential pioneers of the British style as well as making it versatile by incorporating a more rugged and violent match when the situation called for it. I think he's one of the lost great workers who no-one thinks of, but yeah any comparison to Liger was purely based on him exceeding Liger in WOS work. Seabs pimped Liger/Togo from '96 at t'other place earlier and I'm giddy to watch that this week at some point.
Yeah get around to it when you can. No rush buddy
. Ok I lie there, there is a time factor because the longer you ignore and continue to avoid Marty Jones and his infinite talent whilst raping your eyes with 35 minute ROH matches the more you're missing out.
