Forgotten Legends62: Blackjack Mulligan
Jack Windham, popularly known as Blackjack Mulligan stood 6'9'' weighing over 340 pounds, was the patriarch of Windham wrestling family which included Barry Windham, Bo Dallas, Bray Wyatt and Kendall Windham other than Mike Rotunda as his son in law. He is now mostly known for that, if known at all.
Debuting in 1967 having been trained by Verne Gagne in AWA, he did not find much success there. He signed with WWWF becoming the famed Blackjack Mulligan, a cow boy heel who used the iron claw imitated from AWA's Blackjack Lanza and found success challenging Bruno Sammartino and Pedro Morales. He left and ironically teamed with Lanza forming the Blackjacks who came back to WWWF to win the tag titles among tag titles from other organizations.
He left WWWF to join JCP where he found singles success winning NWA US championship as well as the tag title with Flair. His most famous feud however was with Andre the Giant whom he faced as a face across territories carrying it to WWF.
He went on to become a part of the Machines with a mask which included his nemesis Andre' the Giant became heels for WCCW before eventually retiring in 1988 and being inducted in HOF as Blackjacks along with Lanza.
With over 21 titles to his name across 9 organizations incl. NWA, WWF and WCW, he remains a forgotten legend.
