A bit of Apter correcting trivia: Bill Apter's Pro Wrestling Illustrated once made mention of a time in 1981 when Tony Atlas pinned Hogan. PWI stated that it was the last time Hogan was pinned clean or submitted till WM6 when Ultimate Warrior pinned him clean. This is incorrect. In 1982 Antonio Inoki pinned Hogan in Japan. Still, Hogan went around 8 years straight without getting beaten clean. I do not know if this is a record. Bruno went about 8 years too between clean losses to Thesz and Koloff. Thesz may have gone even longer in the 1940s to 1950s.

They've spoken, just rarely

I enjoyed this thread, and think it's worth renewing as there's a load of interesting facts in here from everyone.

Couple more I've read since we last used this thread;

According to Observer Newsletter, when Yokozuna was selected as Owen Harts tag partner at WM, it was rumoured to be Chris Benoit instead of Yoko coming in. Anyone have any more??

Vince was forced to allow Bret to think that would be the plan, and go behind his back with the screw job.
he refused to lose to michaels at SS because about a month before the match he told michaels that he had no problem putting him over and michaels told him 'thanks, but i want you to know i won't do the same for you'. bret is on record in his documentary, his book, and in the bret vs shawn rivals dvd/bluray saying he would drop the belt to anyone(mentioning austin, foley, and steve lombardi on different occasions) but shawn. a lot has been made of him 'not wanting to drop the belt in canada', but that was simply background noise. he had no intention of taking the belt to wcw and simply wanted shawn to put him over first as a sign of good faith after shawn had told him, to his face, that he wouldn't put him over.

if SS had ended in a dq the way it was designed, bret would have dropped the belt to shawn on raw the next night, or anyone else, and/or forfeited the title and they would ahve held a tournament. bret had, a year previous, turned down an offer of 2.8 million a year from wcw to stay with the wwf, so why would his loyalty be questioned? no one thought he would leave with the belt, vince simply screwed him.

Randy Savage was a minor league baseball player before he was a wrestler. He injured his throwing arm, but he didn't want that to stop him. He practiced throwing with his other arm.

Vader's eye popped out during a match with Stan Hansen in Japan. He finished the match.

According to Jim Cornette, HBK was supposed to drop the title to Vader in late 1996 and win it back from him at Royal Rumble 1997 in Shawn's hometown. Shawn didn't want to work with him, so Sid replaced him.

Mike Jones, better known as Virgil, made a career out of having wrestling names that mocked important figures in the business. In WWE he was Virgil, making fun of Dusty Rhodes' real name. In WCW he was Vincent and Shane, making fun of Vince and Shane McMahon. (Source- The Death of WCW)

I heard Hogan's matches on Saturday Night's Main Event took place in the middle of the show because he wanted to get back to the hotel in time for room service. Shawn Michaels repeats this on the Bret/Shawn dvd, but doesn't mention Hogan by name.

Everybody remember the fall Rikishi took from the 6 Man Hell in a Cell Match in 2000? Good.

'Kish wasn't too sure about taking the fall as he was going backwards, and obviously couldn't see where he was landing etc. On the day, he still wasn't too sure about doing it - until in comes, SHANE MCMAHON to save the day, as he put Rikishi's nerves to ease by taking the fall not once - but twice.

Crazy son of a bitch, Shane O' Mac ladies and gentleman.

Sid taking a shit during a match (Taker, I think?) is one of the funner ones out there. I've heard it in a few different interviews and it always sounded legit. Even if it's not-- that's just a funny idea.

Also, fun fact about Scott Hall not ever being in a Royal Rumble match-- he WAS in two battle royal's on RAW and won both (one was for the IC belt, too).
