Cause I did and I gotta tell you, at the time it was so "surreal" .... Anyone else remember seeing it? What was your reaction?

hahaha Yup, I sure did. I was at home sitting in from of my television all by myself. I sat there on the hard work floor, as my family was outside talking with the neighbors. When Hogan appeared, I popped on the inside. I was a huge Hogan fan. When he dropped the leg on Randy Savage I think I was crushed. I couldnt believe it. I shut my cable box off in defiance...and then logic took over and I turned it back on and listened to his promo. I decided then that I was just going to continue to like Hulk hogan, regardless of what he does.
It was so crazy seeing him turn heel after watching him as the perfect hero growing up, but, at the same time, there was nothing else he could do to remain relevant than to go heel.
Absolutely awesome decision.
I've never hated Hogan, but the whole good guy Hulkamania shit was stale after so many years so this was the best thing to happen to him at the time.

What a superb segment, just a great way to begin a storyline. Even the way the announcers sold it made it even better and they told it as if it was a big moment which it was.

The WWE needs a new direction. It needs to get back to what it made it succesful in the past. Imagination, making something out of nothing and utilizing every wrestler and not just 1 or 2. The WWE has the talent to be great again, just needs some reinvigoration.
Oh and excuse me in a nod to my previous sig CM Punk is here with Pizza.
I was on holiday in Florida when it happened. I didn't watch Bash At The Beach live, but we were at MGM Studios on July 15th (the following week) and got tickets for the Nitro taping. They filmed right beside the park. It was great. I wasn't a huge WCW fan at the time but I had a great night and the atmosphere around Hogan's heel turn was incredible. I vaguely remember Eddie and Benoit wrestling, although I didn't really appreciate them as much back then. The Steiner Brothers wrestled as well, which was exciting.

I really doubt we'll ever see a moment like this for a loooooong time ...
