Re: Steve Austin vs. Bret Hart Rivalry in Review

The build to Survivor Series '96 was so amazing. I love these commercials Austin did leading up to the event. I posted the other one in my review. Here's another spot they did:

Wow, this is a new one for me. Probably as good as the "beat by a real man" version.

The match at Survivor Series 96 was also very very good and that night was the match of the night.

These 2 worked perfect together

Re: Steve Austin vs. Bret Hart Rivalry in Review

They built the Survivor Series match so well it was hard not to be hyped by it. Of course it helped that Austin was finally gaining alot of notice around that time but having him face a former WWF Champion didn't hurt either

Classic heel? I thought Bret sucked as heel and is the worst heel ever, he could not pull off the heel part unlike Owen

Re: Steve Austin vs. Bret Hart Rivalry in Review

Great write-up, they both played their roles to perfection, and the Canadian Stampede PPV had to be one of the hottest crowds in the last 20 years - they almost took the roof off when The Hart Foundation were being introduced. Shame there's little chance of a Greatest Rivalries DVD anytime soon, with Bret vs Shawn being the first, Austin's will most likely be with The Rock.

Is it because he didn't stick out his tongue at people or because instead of just saying whatever he had to to make the fans hate him? Bret was a great heel and a very unique one at that. It was reminiscent of Hollywood Hogan but the one thing I liked was that he was still a face in Canada because they were still behind him. That's awesome.
