Re: Steve Austin vs. Bret Hart Rivalry in Review

I started watching wrestling from late 1996

So thanks for posting everything.I started as a Hitman fan and I hated Austin but he was so charismatic that I eventually went on to become his huge fan

Bret Hart vs Stone Cold was the way to build up a star.
Sure Austin vs McMahon was more entertaining but it was one of a kind.

But Austin vs Bret is my second favourite feud ever with third being Cactus Jack vs HHH

Yes, the animosity could be felt during their brawls and in their promos. So much of what they said and did was delivered so effectively that made the fans become so entralled in the character progression of Stone Cold and The Hitman.

Bret cut some of the best promos in this period.

Bret most certainly cut his best promos during this period. Particularly the USA vs. Canada work and the promo he did the night after WrestleMania 13 when he solidified his heel turn may be his absolute best.

Bret made such a classic heel and it was so very special at a time when it was needed

Re: Steve Austin vs. Bret Hart Rivalry in Review

First and foremost to the OP, this was beautifully constructed. The diction, the syntax, all of it, it borders on wrestling poetry as it far surpasses mere prose in style and content. Seriously, this was a true pleasure to read during my shitty morning shift at work, and I will be green repping you regularly as long as you keep this up. I learned a ton about the fued that I must have missed as a child. I had no idea AUstin never went over in a single match clean and I find that very interesting. All in all this was a great read, a great write, and a great choice of subject matter. Keep it up OP.

Now that I realize OP is a moderator I feel a little stupid offering green rep but anyway still meant what I said.

Alwalys liked Austin-Bret feud bak then. Bret was top heel with Hart Foundation feuding with Team USA, that match Canadian Stampede was great especially Owen pins Austin for the victory, wished Pillman was alive after Bad Blood 97, Pillman-Austin feud would've been great after WM14
