From the minute Vader debuted he was playing 2nd fiddle to Michaels. Some people say McMahon resented the fact that Vader was a WCW creation. But if that was the case he wouldn't have pushed Sid Vicious. And that doesn't sound McMahon-ish either, he's a killer business man. It seems Michaels played a big role, which I don't get either since Michaels helped Sid get over. And Vader was much more talented than Sid.
Big fuck up by the WWF. And also a big fuck up by WCW for letting him go. Orndorff was nowhere near as over as Vader and his health was going downhill too. They took Sid back in 99 but not Vader. Weird.
Short answer, it's probable because he was a wcw guy. he doesn't push a lot of guys who he didn't make stars,
Vader also had problems with Shawn Michael's pushing him around backstage for what i have heard, Vader was known as a nice guy who wouldn't fight back against Shawn incase he lost his job,
It was probable a mix of him being from wcw and Shawn being a dick to him backstage, as to why he didn't get a push.
While we're at it, WCW didn't use Vader as well as they could've in his last few years there. He was booked much stronger back in 92-93 from what I remember.
I think the WWE just didn't know what to do with him. They already had alot of dominant big guys in the WWE at the time including the super heel that was Yokozuna, Vader's place was kinda shoved down a little.

Exactly and people don't seem to realise this, i can remember watching WCW from when Ric Flair returned and everything revolved around him and then when Hulk Hogan came in he took centre stage. Once the Sting/Vader feud had finished WCW used Vader poorly and he basically became a jobber to the top guys in Sting, Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair and then was fired or released depending on who you believe because of something to do with Paul Orndoff who himself was a mid carder at very best back then.
Anyone who watched Vader from his debut in WCW as i did knows that Vader was booked well up until late 1993 but wasn't booked anywhere near the same afterwards and it was the same when he went to WWE as he was booked like a monster up until Summerslam and then poorly from then onwards. I don't understand why everyone takes everything Jim Cornette as gospel truth just because he tells a good story and swears a lot whilst slating everyone at the same time and praising himself. No one buried Vader in WWE he simply didn't stay over in WWE and once Stone Cold Steve Austin began his rise, Bret Hart returned and Mankind got very over quickly that was basically it for Vader.

Isnt Ironic how after the match with Shawn where Vader fucked up, his career went completley south?? You cant just call that bad luck, Shawn got in Vinces ear and taht was it for him. Vader as a monster still couldve drawn money in programs with Austin,Taker,Rock...etc....it wasnt just bad luck.

Re: Why did McMahon bury Vader?
Vader also got in some serious trouble during a tour of I want to say Kuwait in early '97 where he was imprisoned for a few weeks. That pretty much killed killed his chances of a strong push seeing as he embarrassed Vince & the company.
