Even though many will disagree , i think he has been great in TNA and his joker gimmick was entertaining and actually had a meaning (messing with heel hogan). Hell , i will admit i even enjoyed his match with Hogan in BFG2011.

His TNA work is great. I loved his joker program with Hogan and as the GM. He also proved that he can easily reinvent himself and performed it perfectly. His match with Hogan at BFG was awesome in his own way, exactly what it needs to be.

Re: The Official Sting Appreciation Thread

Sting is practically the only reason I will stop and watch Impact whenever I'm telly-surfing on Thursday nights AND have actually bought a shirt (black with red scorpions and 'Sting' in gothic letters...a pretty freakin' sweet design) and action figure (surfer Sting) from TNA. He's also one of my absolute most favorite retro/old school wrestlers, especially as the surfer. I love his Crow gimmick too, although a great deal of that is a combo of it being an essential part of a dynamite era of wrestling AND the fond memories of seeing Sting virtually everywhere on almost everything as a middle/high schooler. The Joker is alright, but I certainly prefer the Crow and similar appearances over that, and admit that I really miss his pre-Joker character that maintained the overall Crow appearance, but incorporated flashes of the surfer's mannerisms.

Crow Sting will always be my fave but I like him anyways. He still has it.

Re: The Official Sting Appreciation Thread

If im being totally honest, i've never been a fan of his 'Joker' gimmick, he may have wanted to re-invent his charachter but i kinda wish he would have stuck to The Crow tbh, it wasn't stale IMO and it still suited him,

I admit, i wasn't watching TNA in 2006 when he came back on TV but have watched a few of his matches and still adore his match with Angle at BFG 2007,

When he returned (again lol) this year i was somewhat annoyed that he still had The Joker look, i just wish he has another run as The Crow, maaybe at this years BFG , esp cos of Aces and 8's storyline,

Even though IMO he made the right decision not joining WWF when he left WCW, and im sure he feels he has no regrets about the 'second half' of his career (2002-), i dunno he just deserved to still be on the grandest stage, i don't know why he and Vince couldn't come to an agreement over the last couple of years, esp at WM27, it was all set up for him, but he is an honest, proud and loyal man so im not going to say anything bad about that decision,

Long live Sting anyways!!

Re: The Official Sting Appreciation Thread

Another thing that i love about sting is how kind time has been with him . The guy can still go in the ring, in fact for a guy over 50 yo he is phenomenal . I wish he would have that one match with UT in WM just for the spectacle alone .

Re: The Official Sting Appreciation Thread

I know Sting was/is very happy and comfortable with the deal he has at TNA, but I would love to know why he turned down the opportunity to face 'Taker at WM27, and exactly what did Vince want from him after Mania, Sting said he was 'very' close to saying yes, such a shame, he wouldn't have let anyone at TNA down...

Re: The Official Sting Appreciation Thread

I'm glad Sting didn't sign for a match with Undertaker. Undertaker wouldn't have gotten a match anywhere near as good out of Sting as he did with HHH. Sting's prime in ring died around 1996.

And so I'm not being too negative, I'll just say I love his series of matches with VADER~! and some of his stuff with Regal is top fucking notch too.
