Val Venis as IC champ in 2000. He was cool, but there was no point in putting the IC title on him.

In early 2004, the guy did fuck all. He lasted 38 seconds in the Royal Rumble, lost in his forgettable tag team matches at No Way Out and Wrestlemania and did very little to make any kind of impression. As soon as Brock Lesnar left, the WWE inexplicably decided that they needed to rush somebody to the title scene (rather than simply manouvering the decent, proven and established main event players that they already had like Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero, Booker T, Chris Jericho or Undertaker) and, by simply handing him a "Great American" award they bumped him up from the bottom of the barrell to the top of the tree. Don't get me wrong, the guy wasn't a totally rubbish performer (he got better eventually) but his rushed push just totally put me off him; he relied too much on cheap heat (racism against Mexicans, flaunting his money) and his act seemed tired and old hat. His character wasn't established enough for me to take him seriously as a main eventer (not after a decade of being a bottom of the barrell nobody). I tried to watch, and I tried to enjoy, but I just couldn't get into it. It didn't help that he surrounded himself with the worst stable since the JOB squad (the fucking Bashem Brothers!? WTF?).

I agree. JBL had potential to be great but they rushed him. Although his title reign was kinda fun to watch because every pay per view you were like "wtf...he won again" and at least he found clever ways to win. But he always put on good matches during his title reign imo:
vs Eddie Gab-****
vs taker at summerslam-**,ok this one kinda sucked but the crowd played a part of that imo.
vs Taker No Mercy-****
Vs Booker T-***3/4
Fatal Four way-****1/4
Triple threat at Royal Rumble-***
vs Kurt Angle last man standing-***3/4
Vs John Cena I quit match-****

Lots of dang good matches.

Swagger
Miz and Del Rio only because both their reigns had no substance and felt rushed. Del Rio is main event caliber but got the World Title way too soon. Miz should have improved more on his ring skills and storytelling before getting the Big One.

Kevin Nash nearly put the company out of business. Oh, and Jack Swagger should've never been a World Champion in the first place.

Whoever got the run during that period was not going to draw. It was just a bad time in the F imo.

This is just for guys who should have never been World Champions and that list includes: Jack Swagger, Dolph Ziggler, The Great Khali, David Arquette, Vince Russo and Alberto Del Rio.

Wasn't there a chick cruiserweight champ in WWE once? Around the same time as Chavo Classic won it, I think

I'm only going to name former and current world champions.

Jeff Hardy, CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, Sheamus, John Cena, Goldberg, The Miz etc.

Come on. You're just ranking these matches yourself. You say it like it's a fact.

Though I enjoyed JBL, he was a fantastic heel and not only a coward heel, but he was entertaining and didn't do the same shit over and over. Also I somewhat agree with you still, JBL had great chemistry with Undertaker, Kurt Angle and Eddie Guerrero.
