Default Top fifteen Teams/People Who never got a long title reign

There has been so much talent during the years years, but people like Little Guido would toil in ECW for literal years and only earn 1 or 2 tag title reigns or TV title reigns. These are my picks for who should have had longer reigns in any promotion. You can choose whoever the heck you want. These are just MY picks. You can choose any promotion.

1. The Suicide Blondes (2 Tag Team Title Reign, 42 and 46 days. Chris Candido and Chris Michaels)
2. Dean Malenko and Chris Benoit (1 Tag Team Title reign, 42 Days)
3. The Gangstanators (1 Tag team Title Reign, 28 Days, New Jack and John Kronus)
4. Full Blooded Italians (1 Tag Team Ttitle Reign, 48 Days, Little Guido and Tracey Smothers)
5. Doug Furnas and Phil Lafon (1 tag team Title Reign, 1 day)
6. Jason (1 Television Title reign, 83 days)
7. Bam Bam Bigelow (1 Television title reign, 34 days)
8. Danny Doring and Roadkill-They only had one Tag title reign and were the last champions for ECW. They should have won the belts months (if not years) before they did.
9. The Dark Carnival (1 WCW Tag Team Title Reign, 1 day, Vampiro and The Great Muta. This was the greatest travesty EVER!)
10. Rick Martel (1 WCW television title reign, 6 days)
11. Alex Wright (1 WCW television title reign, 32 days)
12. Perry Saturn (1 WCW television title reign, 35 days)
13. Disco Inferno (2 WCW television title reign, 42 days, 21 days)
14. Ultimo dragon (2 WCW television title reigns, 41 days, 30 days)
15. Jerry Lynn (1 WWF Light heavyweight title reign, 37 Days)

Honorary mentions

1. Buff Bagwell (5 WCW tag team title reigns, only held them for a combined 108 days)
2. Pretty Wonderful (2 WCW tag team title reigns, held them for a combined 94 days)
3. Chris Benoit and Perry Saturn 1 WCW tag team title reign lasted 21 days)
4. Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko 1 WCW tag team title reign lasted 15 days
5. Raven us title held for 1 day

Default Re: Top fifteen Teams/People Who never got a long title reign

Here are 15 guys/teams who never got a Major World Title run (AWA,NWA, or WWE) who should have.

In the older days guys who held major titles were the truly great ones. But since the late 90's too many guys in the industry are awarded belts because they need help getting over. I know they did this occasionally in the earlier days but it was rare (Andre). At least IMO this means the titles were cheapened (espeically the secondary titles) and they really did not "deserve" the title. Since the WWE started this booking philospphy it has really taken the shine off the belts.

Anyways, here are 15 who did not get a shot with one of the premeire titles...

1. Roddy Piper: Hard to believe he never had a run with any of the big three belts
2. Andre: Okay I know he had the title for a minute or two before selling it to Dibiasi but the WWF has gone back and forth on wether that really counted. He should have gotten one run at least. By the time that angle took place Andre was really slowing down so a Hogan title pursuit angle would have not have been feesable.
3. Paul Orndorff: During his prime he had everything except a world title.
4. Mil Mascaras: Had plenty of titles in Mexico but in spite of his Apter mag cover boy status, American companies would not give him a belt.
5. The Fabulous Ones: They were slated to win the AWA belts but the Road Warriors refused to job to them.
6. Arn Anderson: Understand the why behind Arn never doing it, but still he deserved better
7. Magnum TA: His auto accident derailed a career that was building to a long NWA title chase run with Flair.
8. "Dr. Death" Steve Williams: Cannot count the UWF as a major
9. Tully Blanchard: His size probable was the only thing that held him back, he had everything else.
10. Jimmy Snuka: Always played second or third fiddle to Hogan and Andre
11. Mr Wrestling 2: Easily the most poplular face in the late 70's early 80's to not win a big one.
12. Butch Reed: Deserved the title before Ron Simmons IMO
13. The JunkYard Dog: He just not fit the mold during his era, too bad.
14. Bam Bam Bigelow: In his prime he would have been a great transitional champ.
15: Ray Stevens: May have been undersized but was the best worker of his era, and had the charisma to boot.

True, but at that time that title did not mean much

Not to be argumentative but the AWA title was absolutely considered a major title in 1984. The WWF expansion had not yet taken it's toll on the territories. In fact not one territory had folded by this point. When Martel won the belt the AWA belt was only considered weaker at the time because Martel was the champ.

While it is true that by 1987 it did not feel like a member of the big three, there was still a bit of hope among wrestling fans that with the ESPN contract the company would reverse it's fortunes, so the AWA title was still considered a major title until 1989.

Bam Bam Bigelow really stood out in 1993, and I thought for sure that he was destined for great things. In an era of outdated cartoon gimmicks (Doink, Repo Man, Damien Demento, Mr. Hughes etc) Bam Bam brought an authentic tough guy vibe to the WWF, a legitimacy that was out of step with the rest of the era. Along with Razor Ramon, I count Bam Bam as one of the forerunners of what would eventually become the 'Attitude Era'; both of these guys were heels who became faces because the fans got behind their tough guy acts (take a look at Bam Bam's head tatoos, missing tooth, burly physique and snarl - he doesn't look like a typical babyface at all, yet by 1995 they'd had to turn him: I remember seeing a WWF houseshow in 1993 and Bam Bam Bigelow getting a huge reception, despite being a heel). They were anti-heroes every step of the way and paved the way for 'Attitude Era' style 'grey area' gimmicks.

Bam Bam was also a great in-ring performer. He had the big physique which made him an imposing presence, yet he was pulling off dropkicks, moonsaults and diving headbutts like a cruiserweight. He was big and quick, which made him a brilliantly unpredictable opponent. He also wrestled a stiff looking match; I remember his match with Bret Hart at King of the Ring being physically tiring to watch - he kicks the crap out of Hart!

They should've put the IC title on him in 1993 or 1994, and moved him up to the WWF title in 1995. A Bam Bam/HBK feud for the title would've been amazing. Bigelow really knew how to work with the smaller, more techncial guys to put on great matches.

^^ You could go back to the late 80s with Bam Bam. His nimble, big man face work was awesome.

I know this is the classics thread, but kane did have a pretty long reign as WWE Champion in 2010/11. In general i believe Kane has had a great career overall. He is one of the few people to ever had held both the WWF, WWE and ECW championship belt, and has some great records in the royal rumble, and alot of memorable matches throughout his career.
