This thread has legs and could be cool, if it wasn't for people just bitching about things we will never know.
-As for the Legion of Doom don't forget The Spoiler and Matt Borne. Spoiler who was forced to wrestle without his mask when competing at MSG. Matt Borne everybodies favorite Doink The Clown and Big Josh.

-As for masks the WWF and MSG came to terms with the mask issue when the WWF finally pushed it through to allow Mil Mascaras to compete at MSG against Superstar Billy Graham.

-The Fabulous Ones were supposed to turn heel shortly after their debut. Jerry Jarrett had no idea they would get over as faces for so long, the female fans loved them and the men respected them. So Lawler and Jarrett saw that they had a hit and decided to create a version for the younger girls....the Rock N Roll Express was born....and eventually; the Fantastics, The Rock N Roll RPM's, The Midnight Rockers.....and so on.

-Hulk HOgan vs Ric Flair was supposed to main event Wrestlemania 8, but the summer the year before it wasnt drawing well in the house show market. So wwf went with the double main event. Sid/Hogan as the "attraction match" and Flair/Savage as the "wrestling match". Funny how wcw went on to make it a successful even in 1994.

I was at that Wrestlemania.....long live Papa Shango!!!!!

Speaking of Papa Shango? Interesting facts....

His first gimmick was in Memphis as The Soultaker. He was one of many young talents Lawler made into "monster heels" and put over for his various titles.....which included,

-Kimala who was discovered in Memphis and was a truck driver
-Psycho Sid who wrestled as Lord Humongous and debuted winning the title over Lawler
-Tiger Conway Jr. who wrestled in Memphis as Bota the Witchdocter
-Ion Croitoru who would wrestle as Taras Bulba in Memphis, but Brusier Bedlam in Smokey Mountain, and infamous jobber Johnny K-9 in the WWF.
-The Barbarian, then known as King Konga
-The One Man Gang later to be world famous as the One Man Gang

of course there were many others.

In with my Papa Shango avatar.

oh jeez, lets see if I can come up with one...

On the day Kerry Von Erich (The Texas Tornado) committed suicide, he was set to face "The Angel of Death" in a match.

Buff Bagwell (The Handsome Stranger), "The Patriot" Del Wilkes, Stunning Steve Austin, The Ebony Experience (Harlem Heat), all wrestled for GWF - Global Wrestling Fed, which used to be televised on ESPN at 4pm in the early 1990s, before all being signed to WCW.

*Except for The Lightning Kid (1-2-3 Kid, X-Pac, Sean Waltman), who debuted on RAW and upset Razor Ramon.

That really happened.

Great avatar Jus10 first time I have noticed it......really how did the WWE not see that Papa Shango was awesome.

Just wanted to throw out a couple more names since you are speaking of the Joe Pedicino Global Wrestling Alliance.....featuring in addition to the ones you mentioned, The Dark Patriot (Doug Gilbert brother of Eddie), and Rasta the Vodoo Mon (a precurser to Papa Shango) who was played by Lester Speight.....who eventually became an actor and appeared in one of the Transformers movies.
