I might be iN the minority here but I always bought lawless was severely over rated, he was a good talker but that's it. All he had was a punch, the dropping of the strap, and a fist drop.

He was a regional star, that was helped by the fact Memphis was owned by the last great regional territory promoter, Jerry jarrett.

Jerry was great and could protect and promote the king as an attraction. Similar to the sandman in e.c.w. sandman had zero skills but heyman was able to package and promote the sandman in such away in front of those north east and east coast fans they became convinced he was a huge star.

Although to be fair Jerry ha much better psycology than sandman could ver have.
