Thought it was a work when I first heard about it as well. Was more a bigger WCW fan at the time, but was saddened & disappointed to hear Owen had died. Ridiculously unnecessary tragedy that I wish never would've happened.

Thankfully my brothers didn't order it, so we didn't watch it live. However when we watched Raw the next night we were in utter shock. My brothers didn't even say anything the entire Raw. They just sat there with a stunned look on their face. Me being a lil kid, I didn't know what the hell was going on and I thought that it was fake and that Owen would be back the following week. As the weeks passed I knew it was real that he was really gone.

i still remember back when you were able to listen to whatever was on the PPV channel and kinda able to make it out the scrambled screen, i had it on in the background while i was playing Mechwarrior 4 online and missed the fall.... but everything being really quiet on the tv caught my attention and i just listned while staring at the screen for the rest of the night...

I remember when Bret made that emotional speech about Owen during Nitro, and some disrespectful fans told Bret to "Shut the fuck up" and "Hurry Up".
