Re: WCW Profits

Big money? probably 96, Savage/Flair did big numbers on the road in their house show program, then The Outsiders did it bigger than ever with Hollywood Hogan and by 98 they did the biggest year in their history. Along with WWF 99-03, that was the best roster of all time so the record business is not surprising.

97-98 they were selling 30k for regular Nitros, WCW always booked shows in big stadiums like the Astrodome and the Georgia Dome and they filled it every time.

Re: WCW Profits

The fact is WCW was very entertaining, made profit and was #1 wrestling promotion for quite short time. One year they were on top of the World, the next it began to collapse.

Re: WCW Profits

Like that isn't true. WCW was indeed a one trick pony.

WCWs Roster in August 09 was still far better than wwfs. They had plenty of talent to build new stars. But they really need a change at creative. Russo completley fucked them over. Instead of trying to push them as WRESTLERS, he repackaged everyone with a gimmick and just made it stupid. Then when he left in Jan 2000, wcw still had an ok shot and it would take some work but Sullivan ruined it so they brought back Russo. He had a good idea with New Blood vs Millionares club but he went about it the wrong way.

Whats even sadder lol is that after Russo left again in November, the roster was still talented and had they still had good financial backers they couldve got half of ecws roster guys like RVD,Sabu etc. But Vince bought it. Such a shame to... Could you have imagined Goldberg vs RVD and Scott Steiner vs Sabu? Plus I think wcw would have turned Booker T heel and he could have been an amazing heel main eventer.

Ok rant over.
