The Gulf War never happened and thus giving Slaughter no convenient reason for turning coat?

Would have Slaughter turned heel anyway and everything would have been the same minus maybe the Iraki managers?

Maybe, I can't remember any big heels at the time that Warrior didn't defeat already...

Or would we have seen the "Ultimate Rematch"? That seems unlikely since the whole point of the program was to put the title on Hogan without making Warrior look too weak.

I think it would have been the Ultimate Rematch with Hogan going over and Warrior possibly being a heel. Or Warrior and savage would have been for the belt and Hogan wouldve been on the undercard. Who knows, maybe he faces Taker and no streak is born?

I think it would've been to early for taker to go after the belt. If that match not happened at WM7 the best person to face Hogan at that time on their roster would have in my opinion been Mr. Perfect or if they'd turn Jake the Snake heel then to face him but this is only my opinion.

There has always been rumours that Vince McMahon wanted to do Warrior/Hogan 2 at WrestleMania 7 because of the success of their first encounter but Hulk Hogan didn't want to do it and was said to be the one that wanted to do Hogan/Slaughter despite the fall back said to be Warrior/Savage for the WWE title. There is no doubting how much heat Sgt Slaughter drew as a heel which is why they even had to change venue for WrestleMania 7 as Vince McMahon is said to have feared a sniper attack but Hogan/Slaughter was always said to be third choice for the main event after Warrior/Hogan and Warrior/Savage.

I remember reading that Vince exaggerated the death threats to cover up the real reason for the change of venue. The real reason allegedly was because of poor ticket sales. So they moved from the stadium to the arena.

yea there was no way they could draw 100 thousand with a Hogan/Slaughter main event even with Hogan/Warrior 2 there is no way they could of got to that number unless the tickets were really really cheap as hell and the parking was free

I think it could have been Hogan/Earthquake for the world title, Earthquake seemed to be a big foe of Hogan's during that time.

The WWE needs a new direction. It needs to get back to what it made it succesful in the past. Imagination, making something out of nothing and utilizing every wrestler and not just 1 or 2. The WWE has the talent to be great again, just needs some reinvigoration.
