Why should he avoid it?

It made Vince a big heel... I wouldn't avoid it.

Re: If you were in Vince's shoes, how would you have avoided the Montreal screwjob?

Vince should have just booked a match between Undertaker and Bret Hart in Montreal to begin with. Bret would have been more willing to do the job for UT or at least UT wouldn't have conspired with Vince to do the screwjob.

Wanted:

A tall well built woman with good
reputation, who can cook frogs
legs, who appreciates a good fuc-
schia garden, classical music and tal-
king without getting too serious.
But please read only lines 1, 3 and 5.

It's been done many times before whereby one superstar doesn't want to drop to another so they bring in someone who they will drop to, they hold it for a night before the intended superstar wins it a night later on Raw.

1.Why avoid it?It created the character of Mr.Mcmahon

2.Bret Hart should have lost the title.Vince is the boss.At the end of the day,Bret is just an employee paid by Vince.Do what your boss says.

Re: If you were in Vince's shoes, how would you have avoided the Montreal screwjob?

The problems with Bret not wanting to drop the Title to Shawn that night were looming from Shawn's comments about how he wouldn't drop the Title to Bret. It's easy to say now, but one fixable solution is for Vince to control Shawn and keep him from being a piece of shit, doing whatever he wanted.

Vince said that Bret wouldn't do what was right for business, but it's the exact same thing that his boy toy Shawn was doing.

Bret wouldn't job anyway, I don't care what he said.

The guy thinks he's a God in Canada. He won't do that. It's like asking Flair jobbing at Charlotte.
