Okay, 1 guy, despite the dozens of others who died under the same circumstances and contributed to more memorable moments in the WWE. Besides, his wife signed a Legend's contract on his behalf. So, if WWE sees the opportunity to make money off the deceased, regardless of what they have done, they do it.

Either way, I don't think the way he left WWE is the reason why he hasn't been inducted.

Another guy who I don't understand why hasn't he been inducted is Brian Pillman.

Rude wears tights airbrushed with Cheryl Roberts likeness. Classic memory.

Its only a matter of time for Rude and the HOF. I'm sure it will happen. Bret Hart, Curt Hennig both were his friends and both are in the HOF. I doubt drugs will be a reason to hold him out. A lot of people will remember "Ravishing" Rick and I doubt many know how he died.

I think people in this thread, and people in general, are overrating the importance of the WWE HOF. It's just for show. It doesn't mean anything.

Consider some of the names that are not in:

Randy Savage
Ultimate Warrior
Owen Hart
Rick Rude
Davey Boy Smith

And then contrast that to some of the people who are in...and this is just ridiculous inductees who are wrestlers, not even counting the Drew Careys of the HOF:

Koko B. Ware
Rocky Johnson (clearly inducted solely to get The Rock to show up at the HOF)
Tony Atlas
Bob Armstrong

Seriously, Koko B. Ware? That's the modern day equivalent of putting Carlito in the HOF.

Long story short, WWE's HOF means shit because of the people who aren't it.

You forgot:
Ric Flair
Hulk hogan
Shawn Michaels
The 4 Horsemen
Andre The Giant
Ted DiBiase
Tito Santana
The Roadwarriors
Bret Hart
Eddie Guerrero
Yokozuna
Edge
Nick Bockwinkel
Verne Gagne
The Von Erichs
Sgt. Slaughter
Roddy Piper
Greg Valentine

And many others...
try telling THEM the WWE HOF means nothing. Who else puts so much into celebrating old/dead professional wrestlers on national stage?

I mean I guess your right we're all being worked and the tears in their and their family's eyes are fake and Bret Hart wasn't really mad for a decade but decided the HOF meant a lot TO HIM and he wasn't going to punish himself and not be inducted.

Your right I guess.

They don't even have an actual location for the HOF. We are the only ones who complain about certain guys getting inducted and some not getting inducted. Why do you think so many wrestlers speak out against it? It doesn't certify you as a real legend in wrestling.

The Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame in New York is the one that truly matters. You don't see actors or lifetime mid card/jobbers getting inducted. You want find any Hollywood actors in that HOF but instead, a variety of guys who truly contributed to making wrestling what it is today.

Arguably the biggest name not in the WWE HoF is Bruno Sammartino. I'm not sure what the current circumstances are, but in the past Vince had major heat with him over comments he made about what goes on in the WWE as far as drugs go. Bruno also wants no part of Vince's business, so for him to make it in would be a miracle at this point.

1. Do you really need a physical building? That's not even an important part of it, its about appreciation that's all. He could not give a fuck and then people would complain about Vince not giving a fuck.

2. The WWE HOF is NOT FOR FANS its for the wrestlers, plenty of whom accept.

3. I guess by actors you mean Drew Carey who actually entered a match its called a "celebrity wing". Thick skulls refuse to hear those two words: CELEBRITY WING

4. Celebrities helped the WWE throughout its history so of course there is a celebrity wing. You know how many celebrities were involved with Wrestlemania and other events over the years?

5. "Lifetime midcarders/jobbers" ...yawn. Wrestling is fixed...I know its not still real to you. People who became "lifetime jobbers" probably because they were good at jobbing which is essential to building superstars...I guess that's not "making wrestling what it is today".

6. Johnny Rodz trained The Dudley Boyz & Raven (IIRC) so you mean he didn't contribute to the business because he's a jobber? Stop it 5.

7. You will find a "variety of guys" in WWE's too. The aforementioned Celebrity Wing is for non-wrestlers who helped the WWE (and to an extension wrestling in general) throughout the years. There are color commentators, ring announcers, even rival promoters in WWE's HOF what more do you want?

8. No disrespect to the PWHOF but the WWE is the biggest wrestling company in history for the most part. They have the ability to educate casuals on guys they normally wouldn't give a fuck about.

Honestly do you think the casual American kid knows who Nick Bockwinkel is? How about Mil Mascaras? Chances are they don't and even bigger chance is they don't care. Their parents probably don't care either.

Nobody is falling all over themselves to honor professional wrestlers, they should appreciate ANYONE that looks to do so. Sure some complain but hey, they are human beings and humans can find flaws in everything.

9. Nothing "certifies" anyone as a wrestling legend. Being put in a HOF nobody knows about (meaning casuals) surely doesn't help your argument.

Its not a flawless system of election and some would say its not a fair system but to say "it doesn't mean anything" is blatantly false.

Now this topic is about Rick Rude and because he's one of my all time favs I won't misdirect this topic further by quibbling over WWE's HOF.

Okay, so you debate some claims that I never made. You know like I know that the WWE HOF is a joke. And my whole point, personal opinion about the HOF aside, is that it's bullshit that Rude isn't in it.

No need to write novels in order to act as if you know something, you defend the HOF like it's important to you and you're getting inducted. To me, it's a joke because deserving people aren't in it and usually only get inducted if they sign a legend's deal. And secondly, it has no meaning to fans. I'm just saying if you are going to do it, you obviously will refuse some for various reasons, which isn't fair.

And for the record, no more novels. You could have said the same thing and saved time by writing a sentence.
