Yeah there is also a good Steamboat/Bret match on Bret's DVD (from Boston Garden 1986), also a good Hart Foundation/Killer Bees match from '86 at the Garden

Was the frankensteiner-move the orginal headscissor move? Did it all come from the Steiner brothers?

The Ultimate Warrior vs Hulk Hogan - Wrestlemania 6 - Title vs Title

The Ultimate Challenge

My favorite match when i was a kid, first time ive watched it in years tbh, THIS is a fucking BIG MATCH. Both men told the perfect story, match was pretty well structured to both Warrior and Hogan, manic crowd, and BOTH fucking titles on the line which was a massive deal back then, and i was at the time more of a Warrior fan, loved the guy lol, so i was estatic when he became double-champion.

****1/2 - a bit more for the epic-ness of the whole damn thing. Probably 1/4 star added for nostalgia, and another 1/4 for the magnitude.

Been watching a few Nitro's from early 97. DO NOT SLEEP. This is darn near as good as it gets if you are a Golden Era fan because WCW had HEENAN, Piper, Hogan, Nash, Hall, Dibiase, Virgil, IRS, Savage, Flair, Boss Man, Beefcake. Then you had a WCW roster of DDP, Sting, The Horseman, Harlem Heat. They have full episodes on youtube just type in the date you want and there is a good chance they have it.

Hogan vs Warrior is so legit. Perhaps the biggest surprise to so many fans who have both men grouped in the pile of "can't work". Which is seriously an understatement for Hogan. Guy was plenty capable of working many, many matches.

I love the second half of the Rise and fall of ECW documentary. You have all these voices of people talking about what a poor businessman and stubborn booker Paul Heyman was, then they cut to Heyman and keeps going with his BS and his self-promotion then they cut back to a wrestler who says he wasn't getting paid for months...

I which it would have been longer. So great and you rarely see that kind of hypocrisy exposed in wrestling documentaries.

Re: Classic Wrestling General Discussion & Review Thread

Ok not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but I remembered some heavyweight title trivia the other day.
Mike Awesome was the reigning ECW heavyweight champion when he left for WCW. ECW convinced him to come back and drop his belt to Tazz, who was contracted to WWF then, but the WWF had a working agreement with ECW.
Meanwhile, Chris Benoit had won the WCW heavyweight belt, but left for the WWF the next day (with Malenko, Saturn, and Eddie Guerrero).
Also meanwhile, Triple H was the reigning WWF heavyweight champ. And in one week he beat Tazz, the holding ECW champ, and Benoit, the holding WCW champ. Non-title matches, and technically doesn't make him the first undisputed champ, because Jericho is the man. But it happened while ECW and WCW weren't owned by Vince, so that's pretty damn cool.

Also, Vince apparently doesn't own ECW or WCW wholly, just their libraries, histories, and copyrights. Which is still mostly. That way they weren't responsible for all the debt involved.

Benoit wasn't the WCW Champion though. It was vacated the night following Souled Out. Hence the immediate split to WWF.

He did win the match and celebrate with the belt. I always thought they threw him a bone to try to convince him to stay.

I love professional-wrestling.
