Re: Classic Wrestling General Discussion & Review Thread

Plus Bret has far too big an ego to let a match suck on his behalf just because he didn't like his opponent .

Mentions it on his DVD documentary too. Claims they brutally trained him. I'd expect nothing less from trainers in the Dungeon.

Convo spark: favorite In Your House PPV? I guess the cut off can be for all the ones with the House stage set up meaning from #1 in '95 - Ground Zero in '97.

Most people would probably say Canadian Stampede 1997 by a long shot and that's my pick as well. It was a good card with a HUGE main event that feature so many stars in one match and the atmosphere that Calgary crowd delivered was unforgettable. The Hart Foundation, especially Bret, received a god-like reaction. This show is not only one of the best In Your House shows but it's also one of the best WWF/E PPVs in general.

Much gratitude to

Re: Classic Wrestling General Discussion & Review Thread

Canadian Stampede being on my mind is exactly why I came up with the topic, haha.

Undertaker vs Vader, TAKA vs SASUKE, Foley vs Helmsley, AND that main event? Yes please.

Always been a mark for Rage in the Cage too. Razor/Kid, Michaels/Owen, & Bret/Diesel. It's pretty rad.

Re: Classic Wrestling General Discussion & Review Thread

Final Four deserves a mention too. Starts off slow, but each match gets better and better until we end up with an awesome tag title match and the epic main event. Rock/HHH is pretty good, the opener is solid (Mero Vs Al Snow lol) and the 6 man is fun. The fact they released the first tagged classic with this event AND Canadian Stampede makes me .

Re: Classic Wrestling General Discussion & Review Thread

Almost gave it a nudge, but tbhayley it's been a very long time since I watched. Rented it as a young lad from the bossy video store that had the best wrestling collect ever. Except they never had Over the Edge '98. It always baffled me why that never made it.

I know the Final Four match is on youtube. Hopefully the rest is too. Or I can just d/l it. Owen/Smith vs FURNAS/LaFon on RAW to set up the PPV championship match is The PPV bout has to be too.

Re: Classic Wrestling General Discussion & Review Thread

PPV match is awesome, especially considering I had NO IDEA who Lafon & Furnas were. I thought they were just 2 jobbers who randomly got a title match .

Re: Classic Wrestling General Discussion & Review Thread

I didn't care as a 6 year old either. Until I got some '97 RAWs on DVD it was a revelation how awesome they were.
