I still firmly believe they should have held off Hogan vs Goldberg until Starrcade 98, they could have done it in the Georgia Dome, and with months and months of build they could have sold it out, set the attendance record and everything seeing as WCW never had large stages.
As for the Streak it needed to end at the hands of someone who would have benefited like Booker T. Guys like Sting and DDP were already in their 40's by the time the Goldberg was WCW Champion.

Sting is still wrestling 14 years later. Not saying that Sting should have broken the streak, but his age isn't the reason.

It really didn't matter who ended it at the time. Its not like if DDP ended it then WCW would be saved.

This is exactly the reason why the Ryback character will go nowhere.

Re: Who should have ended Goldberg's Streak?
tbh if they didnt go with the stupid finger poke after starrcade nash could of and should of been even hotter
the crowd wanted nash at the time to beat him! listen to the crowd when the ref counts to 3.

Re: Who should have ended Goldberg's Streak?
I think having Nash break the streak was a good idea, the problem I had with it was the way that they did it and the aftermath. They could of had Nash beat him dirty but by having him do it was a tazer with the help of Scott Hall was bizarre and then to drop the title straight to Hogan the next night was absolutely ridiculous and pretty much ruined WCW.

Nobody.
I always thought Goldberg was one of those wrestlers who's streak should stay intact so he could retire undefeted.

Re: Who should have ended Goldberg's Streak?
I'd much rather have had Sting end the streak. Was always my favorite guy, was massively over his entire time and regardless, was the WCW icon.
No problem with Nash but the next night downplayed everything that happened in Starrcade. Also, I was convinced DDP would end it at Halloween Havoc. Weird how the PPV feed fucked up and they had to show the match on free TV instead.
