Man was just watching some of the old Raw and SD's from the Invasion era with Austin as the leader of The Alliance and man i forgot how damn funny Austin was during that time.

It was so funny seeing him beat the shit out of his fellow Alliance members over the least little things.

This moment is so hilarious

Chavo showing up late for a meeting was priceless

"I'm telling you right now if one of these sumbitches smarts off to me, I am gonna whip his ass" love the way he said ass lol. "Look at me! Don't eyeball me!!!" Lol.

He was great at whatever he did. Who knew an already established bamf could become this hilarious comedy character? His singing to Vince to cheer him up is one of my favorite moments of wrestling, ever. "I'm great! Tell'em I'm great!"

So true Austin played both parts so well, he could be a legit bad ass motherfucker but then he could also play this hilarious comedy character just as well.

Lol yeah those Austin and Kurt segments where they was trying to outdo each other with kissing Vince's ass was so funny. "Kurt, Kurt! KUUURRRRTT!" "What?" "What are you doing?" "Trying to cheer Vince up" "Cheer up who? where is he?" "Where'd he go??" "You ran him out of the room you stink! you're horrible! you're pathetic!".

It's a shame that they didn't let it play out longer, it seems Austin really preferred being a fan favorite at that point in time. Austin's humor was legendary though, granted the whole "what?" thing became one of the worst chants ever, there was a time at which it really was brilliant.

My personal favorite was when he had the "coming to Jesus" meeting with Tazz after he didn't save Shane O'Mac from getting a Rock Bottom.

This and Rocks Hollywood Heel Rock run were classic. Austin throwing coffee at ppl. Rocks response to Capt Hurricane. I could the Scorpion Kings ass. Rocks response :lol.

He was just gold the entire year in whatever he did.

Putting on multiple classic matches.

Was a despicable sob early in the run.

And was hilarious after KOTR

I loved Austin's entire 2001 heel run, both as the ruthless nutjob in the Two Man Power Trip and as the entertaining comedy heel later on.

He was giving us comedy gold and great matches at the same time. The singoff with Rock is one of my favourite in-ring segments of all time.

I know the heel run gets a lot of flack, but as you guys said, I found it hilarious. His weird relationship twist with Vince created great TV.

How the most ruthless SOB in the WWF turns into an over emotional mess who practically begs for Vince's attention and affection is just funny as hell. Especially with Angle trying to out do him in those regards.

Yeah alot hated his heel run, i guess because they didn't like seeing the toughest SOB acting so out of character. I never really minded it though, i loved face Austin and i loved him as a heel because he was just so damn entertaining and funny.

Him and Angle together was just gold, Angle was the ultimate kiss ass at that point, but then heel Austin came along and was showing him up and Kurt was constantly trying to outdo him. They was like two kids fighting for the affection of their dad.

It had its moments yes, but I was never a fan. It's a shame because Stone Cold's heel run started out pretty good with him being a psychotic badass who wasn't afraid of anything. But then Triple H gets injured and Austin becomes a comedy act. Why the sudden change?

This heel run of his certainly has hurt him. He never seemed to have the same aura again after the Invasion storyline was over. Austin had good moments as the Raw Sheriff in 2003, but it was kinda sad to see the once great SCSA being made fun of by Triple H for wearing a plastic sheriff badge.

I hated it. No wonder his heel run bombed because they kept putting him in all these dumb comedy skits (like him & Angle taking turns hugging McMahon) that didn't fit his character. His psychotic run before he joined The Alliance was so much better and should've stayed the course!

Austin was great in all the roles he played. I had no problem with his heel run he put on some amazing matches and was always entertaining!
To me at least anyway.

I liked some of the stuff he did, especially with him and The Rock singing various songs trying to "bond" on the go-home Raw before Survivor Series. However, I thought his heel turn was ill-timed with the invasion happening. I still think they should have slowly brought guys in slowly over the next couple of years instead of dropping the mid-card all at once to fight the entire roster.

Plus, I think it made the WCW guys look even worse when they were all just being browbeaten by the face of the WWF all the time. It was almost like a slap in the face and another way for Vince to stroke his own ego, i.e. his guys being better tha anyone from WCW.

As someone who thought Austin was a Goldberg ripoff for the longest (I was a WCW fan before I got into WWF) I never cared for face Austin, who I thought was a bully. But what did turn me around was goofy Austin he gave Angle that baby cowboy hat and it kind of flipped me.

I really dug the shit with him disrespecting Taz. But then he started trying to hold down RVD and it was back to fuck Austin until his Lance Storm fiasco.

As for the thread, im still watching my way thru the invasion period at the mo, up to Oct 01 now.
Austin is brilliant, he just lost the title to Angle, and hes been off raw for two weeks, but sending faxes to a fax machine on the announce desk.
Paul Heyman is reading each one out (a bit like Cole and the mystery raw GM, but a million times better). The raws from Jan 01 to now have been fucking brilliant.
