ok , so im confused as in for the old NWA, the tv show names. I see Georgia championship wrestling/ Mid Alantic wrestling/ and then NWA wrestling, were those all 3 different shows, or were they all one in the same?

And then later in wcw the shows "main event" , power hour and saterday night, which one of those 3 was the main wcw show?

Like what was there main flagship show? Before nwa became wcw? Does any of this make sence?

Basically if I wanted to go back to lets say 1981 or 1983 and watch some Georgia nwa stuff and follow it up till nitro , what shows do I watch

NWA was the "National Wrestling Association", whose champion was basically considered the top guy. That guy would go around and wrestle in different promotions such as AWA, Stampede, WWWF, GCW and Memphis etc. The NWA champ would drop in and out of the various territories and defend the belt against the top face or heel of that promotion. After a while, when Vince McMahon bought out a lot of the other places or run them out of TV time, the NWA pretty much ran only via WCW, which was the former "Jim Crockett promotions" (NWA Georgia)

So in terms of your question, NWA wasn't a "tv promotion" as such, it was the alliance of the territory guys that were on the council. Does that make sense?

To tackle your original question:

Georgia Championship Wrestling and Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling was two separate shows/territories. GCW had national TV for their flagship show. MACW's flagship show was syndicated. Both were under the NWA banner, though.

In 1982, the Georgia Championship Wrestling show was renamed World Championship Wrestling. In 1992, it was renamed WCW Saturday Night and was WCW's (the company) flagship show until Nitro came about.

In 1985, Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling merged with Georgia Championship Wrestling. As a result, MACW's flagship (syndicated show) was renamed NWA Pro. When Turner purchased Jim Crockett Promotions in 1988, that show was renamed WCW Pro. Now, MACW had a second syndicated show named World Wide Wrestling, which was renamed WCW Worldwide in the early 90s.

Power Hour & Main Event didn't come until the Turner years but the latter was probably a shorter equivalent to Smackdown, currently, as it aired nationally and featured main event quality matches.

Now, to answer this question, prior to 1985, Flair was all over the place. But, when GCW merged with MACW, World Championship Wrestling became the flagship show (the equivalent of RAW, currently). From '85 to '88, the only other show was World Wide Wrestling, which also featured Flair but again, it was a syndicated show.

So, from '85 up until Nitro, some form of World Championship Wrestling/WCW Saturday Night was the premier show, as GCW & MACW were no longer separate "promotions".

Ive tried looking it up, and I think what confuses me the most is , im not sure what is the connection between the Georgia championship wrestling show, and the mid alantic wreslting show, the connection between those two shows and wcw.. Also on you tube around the same years 1983ish , I also see a n.w.a. tv show..

As someone who grew up in Georgia, the reason Vince's WWF didn't do well is cause his product stunk. Even then. GCW and Mid Atlantic will always be superior to anything Vince will produce.

JMO, though.

It felt to me like Flair spent the majority of his time in Mid Atlantic. Mostly wrestling Steamboat. Wish I had a nickel for every time I saw them go an hour.
