Matches that could have happened .... but never did ... yet would have been great to have seen?

Ok, so I did a similar topic on this before, however since then I've come across a few matches I would have loved to have seen, although never happened, which considering the time and how much they were around each other is surprising, after spending some time with Duggan and Dibiase the other night and a conversation with Ted, it had me thinking about this since then ... so I wanted to share this now.

Some matches that would have been great, as a feud or as a random match I still feel they would have brought it and it would have been awesome.

Jake 'The Snake' Robert Vs Bret 'The Hitman' Hart

Can you imagine how good this would have been, it's so surprising that Jake and Bret never squared up in the ring but not only would the match psychology have been great, the technical wrestling and match itself would have been awesome, feud wise, they would have been great but I do feel that these guys would have had a great match together, yet surprisingly they never did.

-------------------------------------------------

'Million Dollar Man' Ted Dibiase Vs Rick 'The Model' Martel

Rick Martel against Ted Dibiase, I was speaking with Ted the other night and he was saying to me how Martel is a guy that can't be over looked ... he went on to say how he knew Rick but he never was a guy he actually had a one on one match with, he doesn't know why but it was something that he would have loved to have done, their wrestling styles would have worked well with each other and complimented each other and character wise, they could have really added some real creativity between the two, specially considering that both guys were very creative when it came to their character.

-------------------------------------------------

So what are your thoughts in regards to these mentioned above and what talents do you feel would have been great in a one on one match against each other ... that never were.

I'm sure you guys can come up with some great stuff here so I look forward to hearing your vibes in regards to these matches as well as any of your own that you feel would have been great.

Please keep it to talents that could have possibly had a match, as opposed to fantasy matches such as Big Show Vs Andre ... matches that could have happened basically but didn't.

I look forward to hearing some vibes from you guys

PS If you want to hear more about the other night and see some clips, a recent post was made here : http://www.wrestlingforum.com/classi...ries-more.html

Shawn Michaels vs. Ultimate Warrior, New Generation era.

If Warrior stayed longer we would have gotten this. Given the right opponent, Warrior could have very good-great matches, and certainly Shawn could do it. Warrior (face) vs. HBK (Heel) in 1997 would have been gold.

I was never big on Warrior's in ring work to be honest but I can see where you're coming from here, Shawn with Warrior would be good like how Perfect was etc.. I could see Shawn selling the moves so well in the match, so good call on that one

Shawn Michaels vs. The Rock.

This could've happened in three different eras. Never did. Fackin bullshet. Would likely put on some of the greatest matches in history if given the chance to work together. Their styles are so similar, it's ridiculous. Think of the promos. Think of the matches. Now cry.

There are so many HBK matches that are missed really aren't they, I mean he worked with numerous talents and it's not like he wasn't versatile either, because he was ... however he seems to have missed out on working with a lot of talents really it seems with potential matches here.

A Bret Hart / Rick Rude program would've been gold in the 92/93 era if Rude hadn't left for WCW.

A Savage/Rick Rude program involving Elizabeth would have written itself. The matches would've obviously been great.

Savage probably would have balked having Liz involved lol the way everyone said he was jealous of Liz. Look what happened with him and Hogan lol.

It would have been awesome though. I also think Hogan vs. Rude was a missed opportunity. Two bodybuilders in Pythons vs. "Ravishing One" lol.

Savage used Rick Rude as his personal bodyguard... that's how legit Rude was.
