If Miss Elizabeth had been inducted into the HOF alongside Savage - Alternative thoughts

I was just thinking about this and how I know I felt that Elizabeth should have been inducted alongside Savage, which I think many people felt also, however thinking about it now, wouldn't that have just made her get in there simply because of a package deal?

What I mean is, say if the WWE did decide to induct her at some point in the future, wouldn't it be more credible to her to be inducted on her own, as opposed to going in with Savage?

We know that at the end of the day, her with Savage is pretty much what made her and is significant, however if she was inducted on her own as a female some year, wouldn't this make it look a lot better and more of as an individual achievement as opposed to going in cause Savage did.

Thoughts? I've never thought about this until now.

But like I say, don't you think that kind if downplay's her induction a little? It'll be like 'Oh she's only going in as part of a package', rather than an induction herself where they can honour her more so personally.

Sure, we all know the Elizabeth/Savage thing is pretty much what it is, however they could make it a little less direct than that by giving them separate honours, which Elizabeth could actually have :)

No. Savage deserved a spot without Elizabeth. I cant see any reason to celebrate a man's career by including his ex-wife as part of the deal, no matter how much a part she was, whilst his widow witnesses such an event. We are not talking about a wrestling angle.

Liz deserves a spot too, by the way.

I was thinking about it if it would have taken away from Randy too, the divorce thing is kinda touch and go I think, as they're being inducted as wrestling personalities, which they were, but separate is definitely best.

It's really all she is remembered for, in my opinion. The WCW stuff is forgettable. She will always be associated with Randy, so it would have been appropriate. I don't think there'd be a perceived slight if she had been inducted the same year as Randy. I imagine they will put her in sooner rather than later. It'd be a shame if The First Lady of the WWF wasn't in their hall.
Yeah, that angle also could allow her a little induction also, as an addition to her being inducted.

I reckon the British Bulldogs might get inducted next year as it goes too, hopefully alongside Rude and Martel.

To clarify I'm fine with same year, but not as a tandem.

She deserves her own spot. I think she is the most deserving woman yet to be inducted. I see many people downplaying her role these days saying she didn't do anything but she could get stories over with just a mere facial expression and those days, less was more. When she did do something, the roof would blow off. People just loved her.

Having said that, I'm not sure if she will ever get in. Who would accept for her?I think her family don't want anything to do with wrestling. I read somewhere that flowers are even banned from her grave which I find so terribly sad for such a a beautiful woman. Randy's gone, Lex shouldn't have anything to do with it. Tragic really.

Of course, though, the million dollar (minus Ted) question with Elizabeth is, will the Hulette family allow her to go in when reportedly at least some of them blame the industry for her death? She absolutely deserves to go in, yes--and I would have to agree on her own, both because she deserves it that way and taking into account Savage's large body of work both before and after their time together--and Vince should give whatever compensation he feels is necessary to sooth anyone adamantly against it that doesn't constitute bribery (perhaps giving the family complete control of all merchandising and licensing of her image, for instance).

I'll play the devil's advocate here. No, if all she is known for, like someone in sherry thread mentioned, look worried and played victim to Savage`s act, she doesn't deserve to be in the hof, let alone along with Savage's calibre.

The only reason I consider legit for her being in HOF is worse people have made their way in, so why not her. Individually, I would not like to see her in.

I don't see Liz's family allowing WWE to induct her in. As mentioned above, her family don't want her assosciated with wrestling anymore. No wrestlers were allowed to attend her funeral from what I've heard.

I don't think Lex Luger will get inducted in either due to all the controversy from their relationship. Some idiot fans would probably bombard his induction speech with chants of "YOU KILLED LIZ!".

This is the problem these days. The HOF should return to being a closed function, with just invited guests from within the industry. It won't happen, because there is money to be made, but it is the only way to stop the catcalls of disrespectful halfwits who don't appreciate the environment presented.

Elizabeth should have been inducted way before now for she was the 'darling' of the WWF during her spell there and most definitely was a crowd fav, her times since leaving WWF & being in WCW shouldn't be taken into considerations purely her WWF tenure.

Agreed.

Elizabeth's run in WCW was just horrible and you could just tell that she was fucked up on drugs for the majority of it too. :(

Like others before me have already said a HOF wll never happen though since the same level of hatred that Martha Hart has for the wrestling industry for the death of her husband Owen Hart is the same level of hatred that Hulette's family has for it for Liz's death as well and I just can't see them ever allowing WWE to induct her under any circumstances whatsoever.

If, however, things were eventually come together--or if Vince simply waits until all currently surviving Hulette family members pass on and pulls the trigger on it then--who would be the right person to induct her? It really shouldn't be Lex; putting him up on that podium is just asking for a crazed hyperfan to shoot him right there and then. Sherri would have been the obvious choice 10 years ago, but obviously that won't work now. And Hulk wouldn't be right either, both because he just did Savage and given the occasional rumors he may have slept with her behind the Macho Man's back at one point or another (the leadup to the explosion of the Mega Powers being the time frame I hear most, which if so would make sense given he'd be in easy proximity to do so). Lanny again, perhaps, in the end? Maybe Bret, who seemed (at least from how I interpret his descriptions of her from his autobiography) to have strong eyes for her? Or a less obvious candidate?

Savage and Elizabeth had a falling out. Mostly - they were really together as a couple, and split up. Savage is now dead. I remember i heard someone say that if they had gone in together - it would have been unfair to Savage's actual wife. I think that's a very, very valid point.

Considering how I already through a gasket over the way Savage's induction was handled, I would've thrown up if they inducted him as a pair duo with Elizabeth. I think eventually Elizabeth can crack into the HoF (she's borderline in my opinion) but in no way should she go with Savage. Savage is a top 10 of all-time, no doubt, no question, and the fact that he was inducted with less love than Warrior is insulting to me.
